@Nippy LOL! Well I asked in Jessops, and I was to be referred to a camera repair shop, even if I didn't want the camera repairing they would charge to take it apart in the first place, then on to attempt to rescue the film
@Ned, so true. If I have nothing, I have my memories, but that could only leave you lot guessing

Guinness, black goes with everything.
For still images, I've had a good experience with the HP318 series camera, and for video, the Canon 200MC and 40MC cameras are excellent (you'll pay for it, but it's worth it).
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!
If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

Aha! Another person who found good in HP equipment. They produce good quality solutions, at affordable prices.
Three are short listed, one is a HP850 (though I preferred the spec of the 935) and the other is a Fuji Finepix 6800 (my preference) the latter two allow 3 minutes of video We are looking in the region of £300.

Thats a fair wedge of cash, and you'd get a good piece of kit for that.
Erm, what ever happened to good ol' American engineering? Consider this a plug for the Kodak LS420. US$250, and with an extra memory card, will store several minutes of incriminating quicktime video.
Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time
My digital cam is a Kodak and it takes great pics (More so than my skill shows )
