Courtesy call on Dagoth Ur
While I was collecting the Croisseur of Whatshisname for the Ghostgate temple I decided to go into Dagoth's outer lair to see what would happen. Daggy started to say something to me about why I came unprepared but never got to finish his sentence (bad case of silver arrow-itis it seems). Does anyone know if vaporizing Daggy early on makes any difference later in the game when you have the right tools to finish him off? Although my char is a level 70 assassin, she hasn't even done the Hidden Prophesies quest yet. I didn't get any 'broken main thread' notes or anything, but I don't want to play for another couple of days only to find out I screwed it up.

Good question; I don't know for sure. If you didn't get the 'broken quest' warning, then you are probably ok.
By the way was it Dagoth Gilvoth or Dagoth Ur? If it was the former, there's no problem, but I trust you looted his body.
SPOILER: When you confront Dagoth Ur, it is in the Facility Cavern. You battle him and kill him; he disappears, leaving his Heart Ring behind. You now must enter Akulakhan's Chamber to confront Ur again. From what you describe it sounds like you killed Gilvoth, and you are ok.

I think this is about my 6th time through this game so there's not much left in it that anyone could spoil for me, but thanks for the courtesy (that's why I removed the black print from your hidden text). No, it was Daggy that I smoked. I know it only causes him to retreat into the next chamber but I wanted to see what would happen if I tried to talk to him before I had the Gauntlet, Sunder and Keening. It stood to reason that someone who was trying to find the Croisseur might miss the ladder and blunder into Dag's Facility not knowing he was in there. So I wanted to see how the game would handle it. I was actually expecting the door to be barred or to be killed outright but he'll actually talks to you. Now I'm sorry that I didn't hear him out completely (but noooo..... I just had to pump that last arrow into him and cut his dialog short).
Edit: Just finished the main quest. Dagath Ur was in Akulakhan's Chamber where I had left him and the earlier visit did not mess anything up - I missed out on the pointless dialog but that's no loss. Now I think I'll go and whack Vivic.
