How can you prevent Bodhi from turning your romance into a vampire?

Post by SubDub »

Is it possible to just drop her off before entering the district and coming back afterwards? Is there any other way? Is the only real consequence to this that the romance is ended?

But most importantly, when she gets turned into a vampire, and killed, after you come to the altar in the temple ruins, will all the equipment she was wearing be back when the resurrection is complete?

From a roleplaying perspective.... doing this seems rather pointless, it is an important part of the story.

I suppose, after once more recruiting the individual, you could probably monkey about with the romance variables using either Shadow Keeper or the CLUA Console in order to reactivate the romance... But again, this really seems a bit pointless from a story-line angle.

The equipment should be on the ground at the location Bodhi steals your love interest. However, If you want to avoid having to look for it, you could always de-euip her prior to entering the Graveyard district.

When you drop your romance interest from the party the relationship is over. Period, end of story. It would be the real life equivalent of abandonning your GF at the bottom of a pit and then coming back a week later asking if she still wants you.

Not sure if this would work but what if you made your romance invisible just before going to the cemetary.

I was able to thwart the kidnapping once but it was a fluke. I was playing with only three people (F/M/T main char, Jaheira and Imoen). Earlier in the game I had gotten Nalia's Keep as a stronghold and had her in my party for a very brief time. Anyway, I picked up Nalia again after emerging from the Underdark and she immediately got the messenger saying she needed to go to the Graveyard for her father's funeral. So we went and were met by both the funeral guy and the vampires. Somehow the funeral thread interfered with the vampire attack thread, Jaheira got off an Insect Plague and my main char got off a Sunray. The vampires never got a chance to initiate dialog before my party wiped them out and Jaheira stayed in the party. But I think it messed up the Globals because the remainder of Jaheira's romance got screwed up, Elminster wouldn't reappear to give her her harpers pin, etc.

This might seem a bit silly, but simply remove your romance from the party before you complete the finale of this quest. Simply go back and get her when its over. :)

The problem with that is that the romance would be over and I don't think it continues in ToB naturally.
