Portrait Help

Post by Mary Willis »

I wanted to add some new char portraits, but I can't seem to find the portrait folder that I'm supposed to stick them in. Where can I find it?

You have to make a portraits-map yourself. Download portraits, then put 'em in the portraits-directory. The game will recognize it.

What?

Call me computer illiterate, but I'm not sure exactly what it is that I'm supposed to do to get my new portraits to show up in the game. Can someone explain it so I can understand exactly what I'm supposed to do or should I just give it up and write it off as one more thing I'm not capable of figuring out how to do lol.

You can't be more computer illiterate than me, so don't worry about it. :)
Go to windows explorer and find the IWD2 directory. Open it. You'll see maps like 'cache' and 'characters' and so on. Right click your mouse button, you'll get the option to create a new directory or map. Name your new map 'Portraits'.

Find some sites on the internet that have IWD2 portraits. Download the portraits you want. Put them in the 'Potraits' map you just created. Start the game. When you get the option to choose a portrait for your character choose 'customize'. The portraits you downloaded should be there.

This site has portraits you can use for IWD2: www.sorcerers.net
There are others as well.
Good luck.
