Nalia is dead -- can't do D'Arnise?

Post by Jyrran »

While clearing out the slaver compound, Nalia got killed by a bouncer. Since I hadn't spoken with her about D'Arnise Hold, it doesn't show on my map as accessible.

Is there any way to open the area up without her initiating the dialog? My main character is a ranger, so I'm really only interested in it for the loot.

Thanks much!

enable the CLUAConsole by adding Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options] in the baldur.ini.

In the game (doesnt matter where) press Ctrl+Space, and enter
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("NALIA8")
Nalia appears, talk to her and she should give you the quest. NALIA10, NALIA11, and NALIA13 should also work.

Thanks!

Thanks. That did it! I really hated the thought of having to pass up the Flail of Ages, along with the other goodies.

How did you manage to avoid her long enough for her to get killed? She always chases me down, even when I'm trying to talk to someone else.

In this particular game, I built a multi-player team (controlled completely by me versus going online) and never had a need to go to the Copper Coronet.

My first visit to the Copper Coronet was to clear the slaver compound, so I just breezed past everyone and directed my attention to the owner (forget his name) so I could get access to the back rooms. I remember hearing Nalia in the background saying "Doesn't anyone want to hear my story?" or something like that, but since she didn't really approach me for dialog I just blew past and ignored her.

It wasn't until after I'd opened the cells and let Hendik (sp?) and the other gladiators out that the fighting inside the barroom really began. I was fighting in a room off the main barroom when I saw the dialog scroll up with 'Nalia: Death'. I attempted to revive her with a couple Harper Calls, but that was useless.

Funny how some things work out...

So if you go inside talk to her but say you can't do it right now she say's "Then it will be as if we never spoke" or something like that.

You then free the slaves which in turn causes a bunch of guys in the tavern to turn red, I think if she is on screen with you even though not in your party she will attack the red guys which could result in her death and the loss of her quest. It seems her A.I is like that of the Guards, she'll attack any red she can see. I wonder why they left it like, the keep quest goes down the toilet if you're unwilling to use the CLAU console.

I suppose it's in character for her to do so though.

I'm juts gonna stick this on the end, cos it's a similar question :)

I did the keep without Nalia, and then afterwards, when she was in my party, she started doing her little speech thing that she does after you find her father dead. NOW, however, she seems to have started at the beginning, and keeps saying that we should go to the basement. Obviously, I go there and she doesn't say anything, I assume because she's already said it, so the game won't move on to the funeral.
If I kill her and then create her, will I just be able to walk through the Keep and it'll act the like the quest is done?

Has it been very long since you cleared the keep? maybe the messenger will come in a little while. If not besides going back to a previous save I'm not sure you can fix it.

I tried sleeping for ages and moving back and forth (he usually come with the message when I enter somewhere), but nothing happened. What's the max amount of time you'd expect to pass before the messenger comes?

[edit] The bodies haven't come down from outside the keep, which I thought they did before. The trolls and yuan-ti haven't stopped appearing when I rest there, either.

Jess, did you clear all parts of the keep, including the golems? I've found in previous games that, although I think I've cleared the keep of all the baddies (inside and out), if I don't go into the golem room the trolls and yuan ti continue to spawn.

Well, I haven't done the Iron Golem but I don't think I ever have (not so early on in the game, at least). The quest just seems to have duplicated itself, but of course I now can't finish :( I might have missed a few on the roof, I'll see if that helps.
