How to get past Palisade

I must be missing something. After I kill all the globlins and get my reward from Crale, I try to leave Palisade.

It pops up the map of the whole area but will only let me select Palisade.

What do I need to do to continue?

Is it possible that Ulbrec died? I can't find him anywhere.

Hmmmm...

Well, Ulbrec didn't join the fight, as far as I remember. Did you enter his house and check EVERY single spot for him?

I don't know if I'd count this as a global variant or scripting bug or not.

You're supposed to talk to him after the battle and he'll give you your next mission.

Well, that's about all I can say for now. Hope someone else can help you further.

I used the cheat codes to make the hidden/special area visible. I kept missing the entry to go to Targos.
