Where's the gold?

Post by Luther »

Hi, anybody out there? I'm playing IWD for the first time. Konlan's smithy in Kuldahar has some awesome stuff but they're so damn expensive. I'm in the Dragon's eye right now and have barely scraped together 6000 gold. After buying a few spells and potions that's down to 3000. Where's all the gold at? How in the heck am I supposed to buy Konlan's stuff? He charges up to 40 grand! Even a great charisma doesn't get the prices down.

Heh, it is a little thin on the ground.

By the time you are ready to leave for the severed hand you may be able to afford one of Conlan's items.

By the time you have left severed hand you should, by selling magic items, be able to afford others. Any later in the game and you find better weapons than Conlan has available. Do you have Heart of Winter installed?

Yeah, I have HOW and TOTL installed. Does that make a difference in the items/gold you get in IWD? I didn't think that was the case.

btw, thanks for replying. I'm pretty late playing IWD and this forum seems like a ghost town. :)

It is kinda quiet. :) Good advice hidden in here though.

HoW means there are more expensive items in Conlan's shop that you wouldn't normally see in IWD alone... thus they seem very pricey!

Also, you may want to save some gold for the smithy in HoW.
