Onto my next question: I just got my car and was overjoyed. However it seems to dissapear when I go to a city, or maybe I'm missing something obvious. When I enter a city I enter the same way as if I've been walking on foot and there's no car to be seen anywhere. Same happens with random encounters. Any sugestions? I've installed the latest patch, and I converted my savegames with a 3rd party savegame converter I found with google...

Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Does this happen in every city? Because I know in one city (Reno) there is a quest involving your car.
But I seem to recall that your car should be in the picture of all the situations where you enter a city. (Except first time entering Reno).
What happens if you travel? - do you travel at car speed or walking speed?

When I travel I travel at car-speed and I can see my fuel consumption. And it happens in every city. It even happens if I stop in the wilderness.
Interesting thing is that when I enter Reno the tour-guide there says something like "That's a car? Wow!" and when I go to NCR some guy there offers to take care of my car for 5 bucks even though there is no car in sight.

This seems wierd - I've never had that happen.
First time when entering Reno (slight spoiler) - sombody will "borrow" your car, and the quest starts by looking at the tracks on the "parking lot".
In NCR, the car should be located under the semi-roof where the guy is wanting the 5 bucks.
I would think that sounds like a bug, although I've never experienced that myself.
What if you drive/Travel to a different part of Reno, does the car follow you there?

After a bit of experimenting:
If I run out of fuel nine out of ten times the car will show up on the map as "car without fuel" and when I go to there I can see my car. After I put more fuel my car shows up in the next city I visit/place I stop. But after I leave from the city and stop somewhere else the car would dissapear again.
I know my car is supposed to get stolen in Reno, but before that happens I should see it on the carpark to the left... it only gets stolen after I leave the area and return. In my case I never see the car in the city I go to.
I've tried travelling almost everywhere but no luck... it's not a Reno thing, it's a car thing...
edit => More weirdness. When I ran outta fuel I got the following message in my message window (the thingie in the bottom left): "You are standing at the Great Bridge, passageway from your village to the vast wasteland". I know I wasn't anywhere near my village, so that kind of freaked me out. Probably doesn't hold any significance, but you never know.

If the car or part of the car keeps disappearing it means you don't have the latest patch. Find it, download it and use it. The car should be pretty much okay then but will still be buggy in some areas like the Sierra Military outpost (don't go there in the car even with the patch - park at the Stables and hoof it to Sierra). Sometimes it only looks like the car disappeared but is actually in some other part of the area. Just don't save the game until you've located the intact car (sometimes the front and rear of the car become disconnected).
