Dragon's Eye - Level 5

Post by Kvidera »

I'm hopelessly stuck and hope that someone can help me out.

I got beaten up by the Queen "B" on level 5 and decided to go back to level 4 to rest up before taking her on again. I returned to level 5 but found that the door immediately prior to the torture chamber was closed and locked. My thief couldn't pick it and my magician couldn't "knock" it open. In fact, there was a message at the bottom of the screen telling me that it wasn't a conventional lock and that it had been warded against lower level spells. None of the keys I've been able to find seems to work.

Can anyone give me any ideas as to what I need to do to open this door?

Thanks!

To get into the torture chamber there's a lever in one of the previous rooms you need to pull. Maybe it resets if you leave the area? I'm not sure.

Just to be sure we're talking about the same door...

The door I'm talking about is in the main corridor, two doors before the entrance to the chamber where the serpent priestess, or whatever she is, is. I don't remember having to flip a switch in order to get through this door the first time I came through.

I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me where the switch you're talking about is located.

Thanks again for your help...

Actually I'm a little backward. There's a switch in the High Baptist's room (on the right side before Yxonumei.) This opens the door previous on the right side which leads to the high torturer. I don't remember it closing again, but you may want to try flipping the switch again. Maybe you switched without knowing what it did, I know I did that the first time. If you continue to be stuck, check out the walkthrough on this site. Also, I've noticed the game tends to be a little buggy so maybe what you're trying to do isn't possible anymore. In which case you should go back to an earlier save game.

:( I've looked everywhere for that hidden switch in the High Baptist's Room you mentioned... Can't find it anywhere.

Can you be more specific on where it is? I'm afraid that killing the High Baptist WAS the switch, and now that he's no longer sharing is company (I offed him) that the door isn't going to open.

I hate the idea of going back to my last save... I'd have to go back to level 4 and hack my way through the yuan-ti dinner buffet and then get rid of the elite archers on level 5... They gave me all kinds of trouble.

Anyway, thanks again for you help Luther... Much appreciated.

Well, at this point I suggest checking out that level in the walkthrough. It tells you which room has the switch. Spoiler below:

lower right hand room. search the back wall for a place that can be manipulated. You should be given a message that something happened in the distance.

I don't see the link you referred to in your post. Can you send it again?

Thanks...
