I have helped out the temple of Helm and would except the next mission with Lathander if it was not for the fact they keep trying to kill me! I must have pissed off ages back, but is there any way I can make peace with them? I really want to do the next task. But they go all red and start hacking away, and die quick, they wont even talk to me?
I have a hero status of 20 too, I changed my ways, i even buy booze for children and have slain two dragons, and did work for nothing! Help

Well the fact they are trying to kill me gives me a big hint they are touchy about this statue, is there anyway I can make it up to them so I can do a task for them later? Or has the damge been done.
What stuff would i have received if i was able to do the task?
(already got that artist guy to do his work for Helm)

You mean you didn't keep the illithium ore for your own use? Bummer.Originally posted by highlander248

I wish I could help you, but I have never been able to figure out how to calm down a roomful of people who are angry enough to kill you. The Ring of Lathander quest is worth 1000 gold pieces and 16500 experience points per person, if I'm not mistaken, excluding any Talassans you slaughter. There are a couple of humorous points about the quest, but other than that, it isn't that great. Not being able to do the quest isn't as bad as giving away the illithium ore to that pompous, undeserving artist, in my opinion.

I think the reward is actually 16,250 and is divided among the party members.
As to restoring the good will of the priests of Lathander, there is no easy way.
You could try casting sleep on everyone but Dawnbringer Sain, (the one who give you the quest) and casting charm or domination on him. (You will have to do this twice, once to get the quest and again to get the reward.)
If this doesn't work, a more drastic way would be to slaughter them all and recreate Sain using CLUA. This may lose you some reputation points, never tried it myself.
In either case, there might be some global variables that were set when you first lifted the statue. If so, it will probably not be worth your while to try to find out what they are and reset them. Just write this quest off as a useful moral lesson: next time, steal the statue after you do the quest.
