Back to the Asylum? (Spoiler?)

Post by Jyrran »

I somehow managed to fumble my way into the Underdark without completely checking out the Asylum...so I want to go back. But the only way out of the Underdark (that I can tell) is through the Kuo-Toa dungeon which leads to the surface on the mainland.

Is there another way to get back to the Asylum that I'm missing?

TIA!

I'm afraid there's no way back to Asylum once you left there, unless, of course, you find to cheat your way back...

If you want to learn how to "cheat"go to gamefaqs.com and look for Dan Simpsons walkthrough

I think it is advisable to "BLUNDER" your way through a couple of times first.....................but its up to you

Simpsons walkthrough is VERY detailed

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I was afraid that might be the case. I guess I'll just stumble around Brynlaw and catch a ride on the next boat to the Sahuagin City.

Cheers!

spellhold subterfuge

I can sympathize....

The first time I went through spellhold I never got to exchange mithril tokens or exchange paintings.... the master led me off waaaaaay too soon - and I didn't know that I'd never be able to get back. I was able to progress, however, without it... so it didn't hurt in the long run...

This is embarrassing...

How do I get back to Brynlaw? I completed the Underdark and Ust Natha, and I know there's an exit to the surface through the Kua Toa dungeon, but that only leads to the Elvin camp. Is there another exit that I missed?

TIA!

There IS NO WAY BACK UNLESS YOU "CHEAT"

Cheat to follow

DAN SIMPSON

To get the cheats activated do these steps:

Step One :) Open the game's directory C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA

Step Two :) Open the Baldur.ini file in notepad.

Step Three :) Find the line [Program Options]. Under it are a variety of
settings for your game. Add this line:

Debug Mode=1

And it must be Debug Mode=1, not debug mode=1 or anything else.
Save and close notepad.

Step Four :) Now when you are in the game, press CTRL-SPACE to bring up the
Console. This is where you will enter all the cheats.

Anyone familiar with the original Baldur's Gate cheats will find that the
cheats are mostly the same from this point. At any point in the game, press
CTRL-SPACE to bring up the console. There you enter in your cheat and press
ENTER to execute the cheat.

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("ARXXXX")

The area code MUST appear in quotes. Just replace the XXXX with whatever
the area number is where you want to be. For example, to teleport to the
Government District in Athkatla you would do:

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR1000")

And you would be teleported there. This allows you to go back to any
otherwise inaccessible area,

Maze Beneath Spellhold (AR 1512)
Brynnlaw (AR 1600)

So, not only am I embarrassed, but I'm now also confused.

From the SoA Walkthrough: "Asylum 2 (Spellhold) #3 These stairs come up from the Asylum Dungeon. You'll talk with Saemon, the captain of the ship you took to Brynnlaw, here. He offers you a deal to ride on his ship, which I very strongly suggest going with him. You'll be able to reach the Sahuagin City by going this route."

Does the ride on this ship have to occur BEFORE or AFTER the Underdark? For some reason I keep thinking the Underdark happens first, but I don't know why I think that.

Thanks for the extra help!!

SPOILERS:

It happens BEFORE you arrives the Underdark. You *accidentally* arrives the Sahuagin City while on the board of the ship. There's a rope to the Underdark available from there once you complete a quest for the Sahuagins. If you go directly to the Underdark from the Spellhold, you cannot go to the Sahuagin City, because you won't encounter the accident in the sea, and there's no way climbing up from the Underdark.
