I don't know if this would be considered a spoiler or not.

In umar hills, I bought the 3 boys bastard swords and ale, but noticed that in my journal it doesn't move from "quests" to "done quests", and says something about hoping their parents don't find out. Is there another part to this quest? And if there is, what is it?

It affect the Ranger stronghold. If you give the stuff to the boys, you lose the stronghold

You will find those kids in the Umar Cave, directly south of Valygar's house. The are fighting a "dragon"... sort of.

What if you leave it longer than 24 hours? Because I bought them their ale, I left to do the shadow lord stuff, and then I did a load of other quests in Trademeet, Windspear Hills and Athkatla.
I've continuously visited the cave and the boys just won't appear, does anyone have any suggestions?

I have only ran across the boys once and that was at night..... I don't know if time of day has anything to do with it...
