What good is Infravision?
I never really figured this out. What in the heck does it do? Is it useful at all?

Infravision, or Darkvision, is a racial skill that Elves, Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, Dwarves and Gnomes naturally possess. It's use is automatic and it's effect constant.
It just means they can see things in the dark, by being able to see heat sources. So they're useful in your party basically for being able to see things in dark places that you maybe can't without a light source.

Thanks, but what does it do in game terms? I know in BGII it's supposed to turn enemies red, but I haven't noticed that when in IWD. It seems that no place is too dark not to see, even when using my humans as leaders. When I take my elf on scouting missions, I still don't see and "red" enemies unless it means the red circle which I thought was a gameplay option.

I don't think it does impact much on game play and doesn't seem to make any greatly noticable differences. Hopefully someone will tell us if that's not the case, as they see it.
Infravision should make your enemies show up as red in dark places and the red circle around them is the red circle that surrounds all aggressors. It just means they're attacking you.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Whoa. Did I post that last one? I don't remember that. Anyway, I figured it out. If you walk around outside at night, other creatures will glow red making them easy to see. If you switch between a human and an elf for example, you'll see the difference.
It only really helped me find Hollijer in the forest before the Barb camp.
