Exporting characters in IWD2

I want to re-start in Heart of Fury, importing level 12/13 characters in my current game. How do I go about exporting them to be imported later?

Hello mate - do you not have the manual? I'm looking in the European manual on pages 9 and 21 and it tells you how to do it.

In your character record screen in the game you have an export button. Use that and when you start your new game in Heart of Fury, you click on the import button and import your characters.

Thanks for your quick reply - yes, I have a manual, yes, its obvious and no I didn't read carefully enough ! I guess its time to trade in the NHS John Lennon glasses for a pair that also enable me to see properly.

Intention was to reduce party size temporarily to get round the Mandals quest problem (see notice from Black Assamite dated June 26 and suggested solution). However, it doesn't work because after saving each character and the removing all but 1 from party, the only option is to exit the game. You cannot import except into a new game.

This Mandalka Quest problem is a major bug because as far as I can see you cannot get beyond level 3 without the modified mandrake root - or am I missing something else ?
