ice temple 2nd level...please help!!!

I have been stuck on the 2nd level for two days now. I have checked every walkthrough i can find. I cannot get the painting on 1st floor to teleport me into the altar room. tried for 3 hours just to get it to teleport me to Nathan's equipment. I cleared out the whole level except for the priestess (figured, that i would save her for last.) i tried going back a chapter and that did not work. Any chance i have a bug in my game. 90% of the time when i attempt to go down the stairs by the picture, it seems like there is an invisble door blocking my party. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks.

I don't think I'll be able to help you but I may elaborate on it a little. I don't know what could be blocking you from the stairs, but did you try to engage Oria yet? Also Have you tried to say Lysan at the stair painting, I'm sure you probably did??? Try....
Hm, Interesting then Lysan at the painting. I don't really know what to tell you without knowing your game log. Maybe someone else knows?? LP

I engaged her several times. I couldn't kill her. I was not able to get into the inner sanctum ( i'm assuming that is one of the rooms with "caged fury" on the left side of the map.). The painting never gives me an option of choosing "LYSAN". "What i was referring to about the doorway where i get stuck, I high light the steps to go down and one member wil go the rest will hang out i the hallway like there is something blocking the door. I only saw "LYSAN" pop up once on the options and that was when i first started arrived at that level( I do not like to use "walkthroughs on games, but this has me totally baffled). "Bedroom" only just recently appeared as an option. I reloaded an started over outside of the temple more times than i can count yesteday during an 5 hour binge on this game.

ok i had the same problem on tht level all u hve to do is go to the orias game room (the place with the little squares on the ground)and beat battle mode on any rank. then ull get orias key.now al u have to do is defeat her i might have left something out but thts wht i know and when she loks see through go to the game room and activate the inner sactum them beat her

Spoilers...

Check out a walkthrough. The inner sanctum is something you switch the battle squares controls to. Nickademus tells you that. To get to the altar room, you have to shoot the lightning off of some mirrors (that you can turn) and hit the shadow.

I checked several walkthroughs concerning this subject. I've tried the lightning bolt to open that door to get to "Caged Fury" It doesn't work. Where is the inner sanctum( is this a room?). On all of the walkthroughs, they do not specify....Is it in the Battle square room? I know that you have to flip the switches, but where are you supposed to lead the priestess to? I tried for an hour bouncing lightning bolts of off the walls to open that door and it will not work( i adjusted the proper mirror). I also read that the painting teleports you to the altar room....is this true? then you use the lightning bolt). I 've tried everything that i can think of. I really do not want to have to start the whole game over again because fo a glitch. Here's my email if anyone wants to email me an info: fistofthenorthstar@comcast.net.

Ps. I am not a novice to D&D. I have beat all the other games(Balder's Gate,Neverwinternights,etc. with no problem. This one is a real pain in rear.

Oria and the Game Room

Had a similar problem at this level.

To take out Oria, once you first defeat her in her bedroom, she turn etheral. Go to the Game Room (she'll follow) in the SW corner set the mode to Inner Sactum. When you activate the mode you will be able to defeat her without too much trouble.

Invisible door at the stairway.

I had one character on one side of the doorway stuck. The other 5 characters were stuck outside the stairway on level1. I had no way to get them back together. I had to restart from a previous save - save frequently ;-)

Once I restarted, I said, " ... Lysan ... " to the painting. This put me inside the room on the West just outside of Caged Fury. You can open the door from the inside to go back into the hallway. Make sure your characters are out of the way and send a lighting bolt N off the mirror pointing west. This will remove the shadow and open the door to Caged Fury.
