Druid Grove / Cernd

Post by Traxx »

Is it absolutely necessary to have "Cernd" in the party when doing the "Druid Grove" quest? Isn't having Jaheira enough?

Nope, you don't even need Jaheira. Tell Cernd you'll meet him in the grove when you meet him in the cell of the mayors house.

If you have Jaheira, she can do the job, if you don't, complete everything and then go get cernd and he will complete the quest with out joining your party if you don't want him to.

But as Baked Goods implied, you must have one, or the other. So if Jaheira isn't part of your group, then Cernd will have to make do.

Are you sure, fable? Jaheira doesn't have to be there to complete the quest, and Cernd doesn't need to be in your party to challenge Faldorn. He'll duel her (and easily defeated her in my game) with no control from me. If you're talking about becoming the Grand Druid that's a bit different.

To completly "complete" the quest you need the intervention of one of the two, but no, cernd doesnt have to join your party.

Edit: completing the quest, not becoming the grand druid

No, I didn't mean "in your group;" that was poorly worded on my part. I meant, one or the other has to be around for the quest to be completed. You can actually do the quest without having any druid in your party--though Insect Plague is a lovely spell in this game. :D

Also, your party doesn't get experience for killing Faldorn unless the druid who kills her is in the party. However, this is offset by the fact that the extra party member gets a cut of all the other experience for this quest, so I usually just leave Cernd out of the party.
