How do you start the whole Imoen rescue thing? (SPOILERS)

How do you start the whole Imoen rescue thing?

Here's the thing: My current party is me (elven sorceror), Minsc, Jaheira, Jan, Yoshimo and Viconia. Now I already now I can't keep Yoshimo, I just want to do the quest. It annoys me though, that I'm forced to use characters I know I will ditch eventually (Jan). I plan on keeping Jaheira (she's a tad weak, but I'm going for the romance), Minsc (awesome fighter, fun too) and Viconia (nice healer, not a poor fighter too). I know I want Imoen in my final party, and as such, I want her back ASAP. I know she's in Spellhold/Asylum (yes I use walkthroughs, sue me). How do I find that out in-game? How can I start the whole 'Imoen-retrieval'? Thnx.
On a side note, got any advice for a 6th character? I've got 2 mages (me and Imoen), 2 healers (Jaheira and Viconia) a thief (Imoen) and a pure fighter (Minsc). Another fighter, I guess, so who should I pick?

When u get 15000 gc's u can pay people to help u get to Immie. just do what they ask and it will be fine. just a few missions and then you'll have her back...

For the 6th player, Id recommend a fighter like Korgan or Keldorn (CC or sewers - temple quest)

Perroxx is right, there are two parties you can choose from. The theives or the Assassins, a set of vampires. The choice is yours and the quests to some seem a little one sided. Nothing else. I suggest you raise your GP by doing the quest with Nalia
