crashes

Post by avatorbob »

 Is anyone having this problem? : The game plays well, but every once in a while when loading, (either going thru a door, or loading a new location in the wilderness, my system crashes back to the desktop.
I have downloaded the latest version of the patch.
I would appreciate some inputs on this. Thanks

I have experianced the same thing and i cant seem to fix it.
Randomly and sometimes very ofter, the game crashes back to my desktop. This always happens at the worst times; for example in heated battles or as I finish a hard quest :(

Ive tryed buying both expansions, and even downloading a illegal uploaded version of morrowind off the internet (I've purchased the orginial, ofcoarse). All this to no avail and with no performance differences

GekkOlias, thanks. I tried something tonight, and it seemed to work: 1) I shut off Norton Anti-virus, and 2) I disabled my cable connection. The game seemed to work a little better. No crashes in about an hour of playing.
Maybe this will work for you, too. Let me know.
Once again, thanks for your input

I do not know about other O/S, but for win98:
<ctrl><alt><del> will bring up a dialogue box showing all background programs. Highlight each program in turn and punch the <ok> button or <enter> key. Close everything except SYSTRAY & EXPLORER. You will need to restart your computer to get those programs restarted for normal use when finished a session.

I don't have as many problems, but it does happen at the most annoying times, especially after completing a mission. Disabling Norton Antivirus should help. ;)

I have had the same problem some time ago. And after I installed the latest drivers for my videocart the problem was solved.
I have gone to find myself---If I get back before I return, keep me here, please.

at first when i got morrowind it crashed everytime i got the veryfirst quest in sayda neen when i wanted to walk out of the censors office *pretty ****y*

then i updated my sys to 512mbram :p and gf4 with 128mb :D and see it works :)

next than it sometimes crashed without a reason, till 1.2 came out NO CRASHES ever :)

then tribunal and bloodmoon came and it crashes sometimes in the middle of a cell not when loading  quite frequently or i can play hours and shut the system off correctly
