Question about enchanting

Post by Straydog »

In game you find glassdaggers/jinkblades with 10 second paralyze. Yet when you try to make same kind of item yourself, you can make it just about 3 second item. Is it possible to get more powerful enchantments crammed to item, like you can make more powerful potions with enhanced intelligence/alchemy? Or is the TES construction set only hope?

Probably.

You will find many 'artifacts' that have incredible enchantments that you cannot match when creating your own.

1. Get good alchemy gear
2. Get a good skill
3. Go to wolverine hall to the imperial cult
4. buy and wait 24 hours from the guy who sells you ash yams and bloat until you have a hundred of each.
5. make 30 pots and drink them
6. make 30 pots and drink them
7. make 20 pots and drink them
8. make 10 pots and drink them
9. make 10 pots and drink them

You're intelligence should now be somewhere between 100,000 and 1,000,000. Now you can fortify you strength so much that you can kill anyone in a hit! Pretty chessy, heh I hit a golden saint but got blocked and I was so strong that I broke his shield in one hit  . So there is some cheese for you....

Yes - you'll have to make your own plug-in if you want to alter the available number of enchantment points on items. Note that in the Construction Set, you have to set it to 10x the desired number - eg. set to 120 for 12 enchantment points in the game.

There may be user-made plug-ins available on Morrowind Summit which adjust the enchantment points on some items.

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Not that you really need longer than 3 seconds on a dagger

don't forget my little discovery...

when you enchant multiple effects on a single item...the trick to maximizing the enchantments is simply to put the cheapest enchantments in points FIRST....

take a dagger, if you want poison and damage health, bring up the enchant screen, either guild or your own homemade enchantments, then bring up an effect, and note the number of enchantment points it takes...cancel, and bring up the second, and note the number of enchant points it takes...

as long as you put the cheaper effects first, you can maximize the enchantments on an item...I've made constant effect

restore fatigue,
water walk

exquisite shoes that way... :p

actually making your own enchanted items is not hard to do at all in tes...and quite fun...

you can really go utterly nuts and modify existing enchanted items for your own personal meglomaniacle power trip...this is quite fun...for example,

I've once duplicated the scroll of fiercely roasting, one of the uber artifacts in morrowind, putting it in umbra instead of the whimpy ranged soultrap...its fun firing a spell as soon as you enter a dungeon and kill everything in it...

these days I am fooling around with some theories about the ultimate attack spells...

the way i see it, sure, its cheating to create uber weapons and such..but with alchemy, you can create potions that will raise your intelligence to above 100000, and restore mana at the same time, so you could go to a guild spell maker, and make monster spells that will give you 200 points of shield, boosts your strength to 400, and lasts for 10 hours...at that point, what is the difference between that and making your own items? of course, the spell costs 10000 magic points to cast, but that's what the potions are for...

this is in fact part of the charm of the game..you are free to do what you want, and the fact they packaged an editor with the game is a big hint...

Thanks for answers. :) So off to learning the TES construction set, and making own items (über or no). Also it would be cool to make ultimate orcs...*drumroll* Uruk-hai, straight from LotR, low on personality, but kick-butt strength etc. Also they are best looking orcs (relative term) I have seen in fantasy genre. :D

@rnrules. Yes, I know that mega-gorgonzola cheese, but Idon´t want to break any of my cool weapons hitting with strength 1000000. :p

here is the legal most powerful attack spells you can put into a daedric weapon, like battle axe...

damage str/speed-cast on strike-target...just a few points, you won't regret it...

chameleon cast on self, 40-80 percent, cast on strike....one second...

this is the most lethal combination availible...

you see, the damage str or speed will either make them whimpier with every hit, or slow them to a crawl...

the cast chameleon on self with every hit? click the mouse, draw back the weapon, and hold it for about a second or so, then release...as long as you hold the mouse back longer than the duration of the cameleon spell, when you connect, you do critical damage!!!

yes, this is cheesy, I am exploiting two game engine bugs, but hey, cheesy is my middle name..

with high enchant skills, and a powerful gem, I recommend vivec or saint...you could go thru and clean out most dungeons with hardly a care in the world...

Found a little tweak in Morrowind summit, that makes the enchantability factor 1.000 instead of 0.1000. So now you got 10 times more enchant points. :D Just need to be careful with too überitems, it takes all fun from game. ;)

ok, you guys all know that I am a cheater, as well as cheeser...they go together, like cream cheese and bagels....

I've found out the maximum enchant points you should put into an item is 500....any more, for example a 1000 point exquisite ring, you will get a message saying, you cannot put more enchantments on this item than the value of the soul gem...

now I have experimented with increasing the soul value of certain monsters, like making ascended sleepers worth 1000 points, this can be done, but requires azura's star to hold a soul of that much value...

it is completely possible at that point to almost duplicate the great artifacts, with their obscene enchantments...or make your own...however, I sorta got bored at that point...

that's whats so interesting about morrowind to me...the infinite customizationability... :p

but seriously, I've already modified some enchantment points of certain jewelry mods, and you can create some highly interesting stuff...never even need the great artifacts at all...

oh yeah, one more thing...

the post powerful weapon for custom enchantment is of course the ebony staff...90 points of enchantment allows for some unusual combinations...

I really like the staff I made, with a constant effect levitation, about 3 points...just cycle thru the next weapons button, until you get it, then fly up to the pesky ledge that you want to reach...much easier than opening up the inventary screen...

now the most powerful attack spells on a ebony staff will be the ones damaging attribute...say 20 points of speed and strength per hit...hit a dremora lord about 8 times, and it will just stand there, unable to hurt you at all, while you pull out a silver dagger and practice shortblade... :p
