Movie Battle Scenes
So, what are some memorable movie battle scenes.. that just stick in your mind as awesome and outstanding.. ?
For me, I think there is nothing that betters the scene depicting the battle of Agincourt in Kenneth Branagh's Henry V
Other nominations?

Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Birth of a Nation--yeah, 1915, go ahead and have fun with me on that one. Fact is, modern directors like Scorsese and Coppola (Apocalypse Now) have spoken of the incredible images and energy that Griffith created in this mother of all battle films. As a side note, it was also the first film to use some primitive form of walkie talkie on the enormous sets to coordinate individual events happening in the fore- and background of battle sequences. The US Defense Department took interest, and actually had people on the set watching what was being done.
Chimes at Midnight (1965), by Orson Welles. Welles the renegade and pacifist deliberately begins the famous battle scenes of Shakespeare's Henry IV with glory and banners waving, then reduces them to inertia and mud, with both sides striving senselessly against waning energy to simply get in another blow and cause the death of one more enemy. It's brilliant, in its way.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
