Lost Korgan

Post by Jehrim »

How do I either reset the Korgan quest or make Korgan reappear back at the CC.

We were in the graveyard just minding our own business (sort of - we were actually slaughtering spiders as adventurers are wont to do) when Korgan up and gets all huffy about the group having a rep of 19 (wasn't paying attention when I picked him up DUH!). Korgan took off in the middle of the quest and never showed up back at the Copper Coronet.

I'm assuming a flag has been set incorrectly and just needs to be flipped.

Any ideas?

A flag wasn't set incorrectly: his "evil" nature was annoyed at your rep. You can handle this in a few different ways.

First, you can find an isolated place with only one person around, and kill 'em. Or, if that sqicks you, just pickpocket 'em, and make sure they notice. I suggest doing this in the Umar Hills, since the open outdoors are not policed, and you can accomplish your nefarious goal in relative quiet. ;) You don't want general trouble with the natives, just a little black blot on your escutcheon that will impress the burly dwarf.

Second, if you've already become the Slayer, which is available later in the game, you can just activate the power. Every time you do so, you lose two rep points.

Third, you can add Viconia to your party, assuming she isn't in it already. This will drop your party rep by two points. Be advised, that rep will rise by two points if you kick her out, later.

There's also a small mod up on the Baldurdash website that keeps party members from leaving you because of rep issues. It's called Sir Kathorine Ut Wistan's Evil Override Dialogs, and you can find it here.

Hope that helps.

Yep - The Rep thing has already been dealth with (since I had finished Cern's quest I poped into the Prominade and wacked the nanny - what fun - right boo?!?) You lose a bit more than 2 rep points that way but they are easily made up by bribing a few of these holier than thou types.

Korgan is still however not at the Copper Coronet. In fact I can't find him anywhere.

Now, that is odd. Korgan should be there. Do you remember his conversation when he left? Could he have remained in the same spot where he abandoned you? That is the other option when an NPC leaves your party. Ostensibly they're supposed to return to a default location, but it couldn't help to check.

Nope - been over hill and dale and he's nowhere to be found. I have a feeling that a software flag has been set incorrectly. It could be that when I dropped Viconia off and picked up Korgan (this is how I ended with Rep of 19 and Korgan) that she ended up on his place in the CC and the software didn't move her over a bit to create Korgan when he left my party (said something about taking too long and not liking it one bit). Was in the middle of a combat sequence which I thought was rather odd so I never did catch exactly why he left but discovered the 18 rule a shortly thereafter.

I haven't found evidence of a cheat or a software flag setting that will pop-up Korgan or reset that particular quest.

If you can bring up the Console-Thingy, you can spawn Korgan again. Unfortunately, I don't know how.

BTW - I found that sometimes, NPC's would leave you permanently if you had reputation issues, or if you drop them too many times.

I got him back .... eventually found a site with all the character codes

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("Korgan8")

Started me back at the beginning of the quest again (minus the parts I had already done).

Kwel!

Glad to hear it. :) I'm still curious what actually happened, though.
