The final confrontation

Post by jennabard »

I'm finally going to kill Malak.

NOW WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW THE HECK I"M SUPPOSE TO DO THAT!!!!

It's bad enough that he takes 20 to 30 hp everytime he hits me. but draining the life out of the those captured jedi while I have no back up, is making me very mad.

How do you get rid of the meatbags?

You can't attack them. the message says to use Force powers.

Which one? Cause it seem that I don't have it.

Playing lightside character.

I used 'throw lightsaber'. 'Force Push' probably works as well. If you don't have any of those powers... hope you have plenty of medpacs! :p

:( I think there is a glitch in the last fight.

Everytime I try to target the comatose jedi, the game won't let me use any offensive Force powers.

Does anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

you have to use force powers on the comatose jedi but only certain ones work. The first time i played the game i was on the darkside so it was pretty easy to do that but the second time i didnt have any force powers that would work so i had to defeat malak after he drained the life from each any every one of those jedi. it was pretty hard

yeah i'm having the same problem.. i'm using the light side and none of my powers work.. draining the jedi seems like an easy way to do it.. when i try doing the lightsaber throw he usually just comes in and chops me up. Any help without using the drain technique would be appreciated

here you go guys.. i must acknowledge starwarskgb from xbox forums.. he told me to use throw to break open jedi chambers and it works! Remember that you half to get him down to half health before you can break open chambers. And then what i did was used the throw and just kept running and healing myself and using stimulants. I juiced up and then engaged, fell back, and pretty quickly ripped him to shreds. so jennabrad hope that helps.

I know your a lightside char, but from my experience, Death Field is awesome for those Jedi bodies. You can absorb them for yourself and do what Malak does. The Dark side is so fun :D
May the Force serve you well.

I finally did it. And it wasn't so bad.

Throw lightsaber or Force Wave is definitely the trick and having Knight Speed helps when you are running around. Getting the Starforge jedi robes helps minimize Malak's force attacks against you.
It was a very satisfactory duel.

I did the final confrontation once aligned with light and once with dark.
On the light side, I used choke and destroy droid to take out the Jedi
On the dark side, I used drain life and throw lightsabre. Each method worked well, but throw lightsaber left more time for Malak to attack. Also, drain life helped me regain some of my horribly depleted hit points.

wow all those ideas you mentioned on dark side force was pretty good, i never used them in the times i finished the game, i just acquired all universal powers using master speed so that Malak can't hit me when i'm running around and force breach. Then i finish Malak off easily by having two level-ups saved for a full regen of health

Huh?

I dont get it? It wasnt that hard... I died maybe twice. I never used any force powers or feats either. I just hacked at him with the standard attack with 2 lightsabers. When my health was low I used a life support pack or adv healing pack. When he ran to another jedi to recharge, I did more med packs to regnerate my health to its max. and hacked him some more till he died.

too hard for me!

I do not have any med or life support packs left by the time I reached Malak...is it still possible to win? I am LS and do not have speed but can throw saber and destroy droid.

Malak is not really that hard if you can protect yourself from him. With a light side scout/guardian my strategy was this:

1) Maintain initial distance! Malak likes to cast force breach at the beginning of each "round" (i.e. at the very beginning and after each time he recharges), therefore to adequately protect yourself from his dark side magics, you need to be far enough to be able to get a force immunity up and master speed (at least). With high saving throws at level 20, an active force immunity stops his magics very effectively (almost 100%). With master speed, two lightsabers and master flurry, he is down in maybe 3-4 seconds.

2) Melee protection! Save at least 2 unused Verpine Prototype Shields for this final battle (I hadn't used any at all) and fire them up regularly. Malak uses a lightsaber (duh), so you'll take very little if no melee damage with this shield activated.

3) Advanced Medpacks! If he does manage to hit/drain you, use an advanced medpack only after you've protected yourself, preferably in-between rounds (see 1) above).

4) Preserve Force points! No use in hurling Stasis/Force Wave at Malak; he resists almost everything and usually has Force Immunity up. Breach followed by the above seem to fail too. Your force points are best used for Force Immunity/Master Speed/Force Armor. Efficient healing through advanced medpacks.

I fought him all rounds (I couldn't do anything to kill the Jedi for some reason), but being careful with the protections, Malak was cake.

This strategy will work mostly for melee-oriented characters, I think; for the consular-types, taking out some Jedi might be more important.

Easy strategy: after hacking malak a bit so he says hes impressed with u blah blah blah and he drains a jedi to heal himself do the exact same thing he did to every comatose jedi in the room with death field or drain then after they are all dead advanced throw lightsaber (or throw lightsaber) at him then dis-engage combat and run around the room until your force powers regenerate then start throwing that light sword yet again!!

I used force wave, but no effect. Yes, i try it when he is running for more HP. It didn't matter anyway, just killed him right off.

Just finished the game and took advice

I got to all the Jedi first and then threw light saber and run around the room to get more force and throws and flurry and Malak was defeated! Quite a finish at the end too that I liked but no kiss for the hero from Bastilia, after she expressed love for Revan! How disappointing!

A very interesting game to say the least! Kept me entertained for 2 weeks, averaging 26 hours a week on the game!

Thanks for the advice!
