Poll: Solo or not?
Poll: Solo or not?
Here's an interesting poll for all of you. Do you prefer to play the game Solo (ie, with just your main character) or do you prefer to recruit the various NPCs available in the game?

I like the npc-style o'play. I think it's kinda harder, I have the feeling that the monsters get tougher for every npc you have in the party, but that's surely just me
But well, if you want to solo, then you need to be a mage (multi/dual classed probably), otherwise you will have problems succeeding or maybe won't at all. Maybe a Priest or druid or something like that will have a chance, too... But a plain fighter, no chance I assume.

Recruiting NPC's, definitely.
As for me, the ideal party consists of a fighter type, a priest, a thief and a mage. Preferably another fighter type as well, with a decent bow skill. These will all support each other very well, in my opinion.
Some say a bard is crucial, but for whatever thieving/mage skills he has, I really prefer a real thief and mage. The songs he has don't weigh up to whatever you must leave out of your party, IMHO.

has to be single player, I love the fact that npcs make a real difference to the game ie their quests and interactions. In bg 1 you would just stumble upon someone and they would join your party and that was it.
my ideal party is 2 warriors, a fighter/cleric, a cleric, and two mages (one being a theif/mage). It is important to have at least two clerics because if you only have one and they die u are unable to raise dead without going to a temple. its not essential but very helpful

There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.
