Best Item: Helm of Balduran

Post by Baked Goods »

Is this simply the best item in SoA? If you take into account the helms availability and longevity (it lasts the entire game with me) aswell as the items bonuses, i personnally think it comes out as the best.

Helm of Balduran

AC bonus + 1
Max hit points + 5
Saving throws + 1
THACO + 1
Protection against critical hits

What do you think?

Well, its the best for warrior types, but other classes would be better serves with some of the other helmets.
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach

I love the properties, but the graphic looks terrible IMO, like a huge football helmet with horns glued to the side going straight out.

True, to bad, it looked great in BG1.

And about the helm, I totally agree, it's an item u keep wearing the entire game (if you have someone in your party that can wear it)

Robe of Vecna, for us mage types. ;)

But not if you have a thief with you. there are so many pickpocket tricks and stealing things. my solo thief bought everything of deidre, the other guy in the copper coronet and payed 15000 to "you-know-who" and still has 300.000 left. the robe of vecna is the first thing i buy (usually) when i have enough money

and all items are class related but the helm is one of the best for those that can use it. my thief is going to when i get UAI
