Skinner murders - spoiler

Ok, I solved the murders - almost. When i confront the tanner with the evidence, after the guard has gone to him, I only have to fight a rune assassin and 2 ghasts, + a mage. The tanner himself seems to have escaped somehow. After the fight, I can't seem to find the human flesh and the scroll. Any suggestions?

that scroll is with the skin i think

be aware that there are 2 compartments on the bed...underneath and the pillow i think it is...or the same but on 2 different beds i cant remember

i have it and i havent killed the assasins yet so it must be in the middle room. it can only be in one of the two beds, the cabinet (i thinks thats empty), or the cupboard.

if you hold down tab and have ToB installed you can see all storage places
