Problem with Original Saga

Post by CrownHead »

So I started a game in original saga and beat Sarevok for the first time. It does the end movie and tells me there has been a final-save made. So I open the mission pack load and it says to teleport to Ulgoths Beard, load my final-save. So I do, and it puts me at the entrance of the Temple of Bhaal. So I'm thinking maybe they want me to kill him again, so I do, and the same thing happens that happened before.

Did I miss something, or something?

What a coincidence I just did the exact same thing today. I read the manual and the way I understand it is you load the final save before your fight with Sarevok and travel to Ulgoth's Beard and do all the extra quests not included in BG then afterwards you can go and fight Sarevok again. According to the TotSC expansion is supposed to make the final fight with Sarevok more difficult and rewarding, but I wouldn't know having never played it without the expansion. It seemed difficult enough for me, the first two times he beat me so fast I thought about leaving and getting more experience but I managed to beat him on my third try.

Write an angry letter to Bioware. Your not going to get transported to Ulgoth's Beard. What you have to do is exit the Temple of Bhaal area, go backwards through the Thieves Maze, and exit to the farm area north-east of Baldur's Gate. Exit through the top of that area, and you should then be able to access Ulgoth's Beard. For some reason, Bioware endorsed the fact that you will be automatically transported, but, as you have painfully found out, your not - you need to do it manually.

I was transported to Ulgoth Beard, too, for the first time I played.

I think it depends on if you want to integrate TotSC into the game you have been playing, or if you want to play the expansion only. I was transported for the first game, because it was after I beat the game and only wanted to play TotSC. I'm sure I was given choices whan I installed TotSC. Now I can only play TotSC as a part of BG (just like a quest), and I won't be transported.

Thanks, it worked. And now after much waiting I get to try out the infamous Durlag's Tower, but I'm going to have to scrape togather npcs I haven't killed, cause Durlag's Tower would be near impossible to beat with a druid only. :(
