i find the jaheira romance a little hard to maintain, so i wouldnt reccomend her...i havent played viconia yet (just starting an evil game) so i would suggest aerie...if your good definitely go for aerie (unless you have the happy group mod)

Have you ever heard any more inspiring or logical words? I sure haven't.

A search on the topic will lead you to a lot more stuff.
I agree about the Jaheria romance, her lack of trust really got to my PC when I romanced her through the whole saga, though IMO Jaheria is pretty solid. For a male's romance, I'll put my 2 cents in for Viccy, regardless of alignment and whether you have a happy-patch. Though she can get on your case (be ready to put up with some flak), she has steely nerves (and doesn't whine, IMO whining in dungeons is not only annoying it seems to be a pretty bad sign for adventurers, who make much of their fame underground), is quite a fine mama, makes a great tank with some strength items (a super-low AC will help her spells from being disrupted as well (in addition to the mirror spell), has a rocking MR (with the Cloak of Balduran from BGI it is easy to make her immune to magic, same for Solafein (which is one of the fine mod romances for open-minded male PCs (nothing personal guys ) and females), and if you are a mage and have an NPC immune to magic, send them into the fray while your PC unloads magic, quite fun), and ends up with so many spells (even single-class clerics get quite powerful if used well). If your rep gets too high there are easy ways to adjust it, like a little careless theft, which is always fun in BG or (little Spoiler, highlight):
by having your PC shapeshift for a little while after the underdark
And if you take her to ToB (another vague spoiler, highlight):
if you have good-intended talk with her, she has a nice surprise for you after some point...
Just my opinion, a case could be made for any of the romancees. Overall try them out and see who works for your style.

There is no romance with Nalia unless you get the SoA-only Nalia romance mod. Its available on the sticky thread somewhere.
I like Viccy for a romance for a number of reasons yes, but overall its your call who's in your party. There are good parts to all the romances. Keldorn and Viccy will end up having issues, as you might have heard. Just play and try out who works for you.
You'll get Immy back sooner than ToB, so you'll be good with Yoshi, and check out his special traps, he can toss them if you havn't tried it yet. Nice little feature...

No one else has discussed this in detail, so I just thought I'd mention it. As Hesperus indicated, there are MODs that add new romances and new characters to the game (most also include new encounters and perhaps a few new items), and you might be interested in one of those. For example, the Tashia MOD is pretty good. Tashia is a Sorceress (you could replace Nalia with her), and it's possible to romance her if you say the right things to her. If you want to romance Nalia, you could try the Nalia Romance MOD. Other MODs that come to mind include Imoen, Valen, and Chloe, but I haven't tried them (and I'm not sure the Imoen MOD is completed and available for download yet).
There's also a MOD involving a character named Solaufein, a male character who can romance either a male or a female PC, although it doesn't sound like you'd be interested in a romance like that. However, the MOD also adds new dialogue, new encounters, and new items, so you might be interested in it even if you ignore the romance option. MODs serve more than one purpose, you know.

i dont think you can romance valen vondondu
just while im on the valen subject, is there any reason why, when i extract the mod from rar into C:\GAmes\Baldurs Gate 2, it creates another folder of the same name and puts them in there? Meaning i cant run the setup cos theres no bg files, and when i copy it all into the bg2 directory it says somethings missing?

Von Dondu: Er, I think you forgot to mention Kelsey as well.
Me, I've found it easiest (and overall, a bit more fun) to romance Aerie. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've always dream IRL of being some woman's hero. *shrugs*

Dungeon Crawl Inc.: It's the most fun you can have without 3 midgets and a whip! Character stats made by your's truly!
Galuf, actually there are lots of MODs out there that I didn't mention. I was simply trying to give BlackSheep some pointers, since I felt a little guilty about teasing him earlier instead of helping him. By all means, if you want to tell BlackSheep about Kelsey, please do so. Kelsey seems to be one of the most popular MODs out there. I just didn't think that BlackSheep would appreciate me mentioning another male romantic possibility since I already recommended Anomen and Solaufein.
As for other MODS, I feel a little uncomfortable about talking about MODs I'm not familiar with. Look at what happened when I mentioned Valen. There was talk about making an option to romance her about a year ago, so I figured it had already been done by now, but apparently that's not the case. I guess I might not be the only one who isn't interested in romancing her, after all.
