Anyone find a damn Ruby?

I'd like to upgrade the paladin's bracers to wonddrous gloves but I can't find a ruby ANYWHERE. I'm sure I missed one, but I was careful to look while playing through a second time. They don't even have it listed in the gem index in the strategy guides.

I don't think a ruby is needed. At least, I didn't need one. I just coughed up the 5000 gold or however much was needed, and that was it.

I think there is some sort of misunderstanding here...Upgrading the Paladin's Bracers to Blessed Bracers(or the other way around, don't remember) requires 5k gold, upgrading the Bard's Gloves to Wondrous Gloves requires money and lots of gems(ruby, sapphire, diamond, emerald, rogue stone, IIRC)...And for the original question: I don't remember where, but I THINK I got a ruby from somewhere in ToB.

I don't remember finding a ruby either but somehow cespenar was able to upgraade both my blessed bracers for the paladin and the bard's gloves to wonderous gloves. I just collected gems along the way for the wonderous gloves.

Erm, I don't think BG2 has any rubies. At least, I don't ever recall coming across one.

Maybe it's (another) typo and you actually need a ruby ring.

This seems more like it! In ShadowKeeper there is a Ruby ring but no regular Ruby...

Bard's Gloves - Found on symbol of Torm in Yakman's room on the third floor of Watcher's Keep
Diamond - Various Locations
Emerald - Various Locations
Rogue Stone - Various locations
Ruby - Various Locations
Sapphire - Various Locations
10,000 Gold Pieces

You can find all these jewels in ToB alone, it might just take some time

Blessed Bracers

What's Needed & Location(s)
Paladin's Bracers - Found in chest on first floor of Watcher's Keep
10,000 Gold Pieces

I just did my upgrade of bard gloves and pally bracers yesterday and I did not have any rubies so just make sure you have got all the other gems!

There IS no ruby in the game, period. This is a mistake in the Equipment section...
