Hey, i hope this is the right forum for this. Anyway, I was curious about what gaming hardware you're looking forward to (whether it's the next playstation, gamecube, whatever).
I'm looking forward to the PS3 etc. of course, and more immediately, I'm excited about the N-Gage from Nokia. There's all kinds of crazy stuff going on with this machine, so I'm going to preorder it as soon as I can. If you haven't heard about it, it's a cellphone/gaming/mp3 playing/digital audio recording/email system... it almost sounds like too much, but i think it looks cool.
I like the idea of putting a lot of functionality besides just gaming into these things, because it broadens the audience and will only serve to make the gaming industry bigger. But before I go into a lot about that, I'll let you guys give your 2 cents!

N-Gage is going to bomb. The damn company mocks the whole genre of gaming. Boo the N-gage, gooo whatever nintendo is hiding.
N-Gage is a tool that will not help gaming at all. Gaming is gaming. Check out gameboy and why its so damn succesful, it performs gaming well. I dont want to have to answer a call in the middle of my shoruken. Screw Ngage.
sorry... penny arcade influences me.

I'd sooner lug my full tower around and call it a laptop before surrendering to the gaming consoles

Plus, you can't surf for porn on a PlayStation.
The correct term would be pr0n so you can avoid filters from work ..... ehh, not that I would now such a thing at all ... I don't work ... I mean I don't surf .... oh bollocks.
( Found out at a lan party that the "kids" (read: geeks) at school seems to dub it pr0n and I doubt it is a local thing

My PC and my XBOX depending on what I want to play. I just can't get into playing sports games on PC. I suppose I could go buy the cord to hook up to my tv and buy a nice gamepad but I like being on AIM, DL'ing and surfing while playing games. What can I say? I'm a multi-tasker.
Has anyone heard of The Phantom. It comes out next year and has a CPU 3 times faster than XBOX and has 4 times the memory. The thing that makes it unique though is that you connect through DSL or Cable and actually download games. You pay a subscription fee and every month you DL 5-7 games and the next month you can keep those games or swap them out. For more money you can also DL more games and even buy them. It's upgradable too! I'm not going to get one and I don't think it will be very popular but it sounds great and downloading games and reducing hardware seems to be the future of gaming.
