That oh so mysterious box

SPOILER ALERT

So I talked to the Rodian outside the cantina at Morriban and he gave me this box to give to Motta the Hutt on Tatooine. Against his instructions I opened the box and it turned out to be a prison for some long forgotten Rakata. I'm interested to see if anything would happen if instead of taking the box to Motta, you save it and take it to the unknown planet inhabited by Rakata. I'm wondering if anyone has taken this route, as I feel discouraged from playing through the game a third time just yet.

nothing happened, the journal entry for the mission disappeared when i went to the Rakata planet
