lost armor skills

Post by lilval »

I was in the Kogoruhn fort and killed everything there was to kill. Somehow along the way all of my armor skills (heavy armor, medium armor, light armor and unarmored) all dropped to 0. I have no idea how it happened and didn't notice until after I left the fort and saved my game. Does anyone know a way to restore these?

Sounds like you've equipped Fury at least once. IIRC, the patch fixes the problem. To restore your skills, you'll need to use the console (press ~), and enter the following commands:

player->setheavyarmor n

player->setmediumarmor n

player->setlightarmor n

player->setunarmored n

where n is the number they were originally. Press ~ again to close the console.

There may be hope - since you have the pre-patch version, try creating a Bound Cuirass spell with a zero-second duration and cast it repeatedly to bring your armor skills up. (According to GameFAQ's, the skill bonuses granted by a zero-second duration Bound Item spell are permanent.)

Thanks for the condolences! None of the above mentioned tricks worked, so I'm having to retrain my character every chance I get. The good part about that is my character is quickly being bumped up levels because of it. :)
