killing darth bandon

Post by opus_gumbo »

So I'm having tons of difficulty killing him. Is there something I'm not doing? I did force shield but that doesn't really work and I've got two people with me both with lightsabers-juhani and bastila. any advice would be way appreciated.

I always find it's easier to knock off his buddies before taking him on (that goes for most boss fights). The AI seems to target people at random, and once they're targeted you can't change it manually. Any kind of energy shield works really well for lightsaber fights, and if you have Brejik's stuff you may want to put it on.

Also, if you use medpacs on the inventory screen they don't take up a full round action like they do if they were used on the main screen.

I guess my biggest problem is the mind control thing where you get the stuff coming out of your head and look like a commercial for aspirin. Incidentally you can change your target with the trigger buttons.

I find the easiest way to win any battle is to pick off people one at a time. You can manually adjust your player's targets. Just pause and use the triggers to make sure everyone is attacking the same person at once. The second that person goes down, pause again and select a new target for you party. Take out Bandon's buddies first, then go after him. Also, stasis field is probably my favourite force power. It won't work on Bandon, but it will work on his hench men. Use stasis field (if you have it) then do critical strike or power attacks. You can sometimes get a one hit kill this way.
Plus, when bandon uses the aspirin commercial power, you will have to have your affected party members reaccquire their target.

That's fear or something, isn't it? If you have upgradable armor, put the mesh underlay on it. There are a few implants that grant immunity to mind-affecting too.

And yeah, I know how to switch targets manually, it just seems like my other characters override what I target to fight something else. I hate that. :p

I hate that, too. The characters will carry out whatever action they happen to be in the middle of before they begin the one you've selected for them. I wish they could just drop everything and do my bidding :) . I also hate when the "path to the target is blocked" so they'd just settle for whoever is nearby. I guess that's better than trying to no avail to get to someone and dying in the process.
