Can't find Jan again

I had Jan Janssen in my party. But I dumped Jan to get inside the planar sphere with Valygar.
I told Jan to go to The tower (his home I presume).
Now I want Jan back. Ma Janssen says to look in the house, in the cellar-garden or in the Goverment district. But I can't find him.

Where could he be?

I assume you looked upstairs in his house, as well?

And how many days have gone by since you let poor Jan go without so much as purchasing a turnip from the guy?

He should be upstairs in his family house.
