Does a druid need to reach a high level to be able to shapeshiftor its an ability u get due to a certain package?
If ur an evel priest like in the bg series do u take control over the undead like in the bg series?

Again, the manual can answer many questions.

Anyway, Druids must be level 5 before they can shape shift.

Priests, no matter what alignment, can only turn the undead, not control them. There is a spell which allows you to summon undead, but that's the closest you can get to controlling the undead.

tacking this on rather than starting a new thread with a similiar name...

could someone try and explain to me in lamens terms how damage is calculated when as a druid you have shapeshifted and have successfully hit an opponent?

I understand that no equipment bonuses count but am more than a little confused how the damage is then worked out...

You do unarmed attacks plus a damage bonus and with an attack bonus depending on the wild shape you have taken.

Each animal have different stats and thoese stats give different attack bonus/damage.

If you mean a badger as in Animal Companion (or/and summoned), then I belive it has a "ferocity"/rage spell availble.

I can't remember the shapeshifting animals possible, but there is Brown Bear, a wolf, spider and badger ... think there is one more.
But you can see them when your Druid become level 5 and get the Wild Shape ability. As for the duration and number of times it can be cast - read the manual under Druid abilities. (p. 58)

the single best thing Ive found about shape shifting as a druid so far is being able to turn into a panther and get from one end of an area to another in no time at all. also very useful for escaping ;)

bear is also good too as it means you can lazily just open trapped chests, the bear form having a massive amount of hitpoints...

The animals stay the same, although I belive they get better abilities as you level.

Dire simply means a "larger and harder form" of the base animal, thus dire badger is a larger (and harder) then normal badger.

You don't see Lord Nasher until the end of Chapter 1.

Druids should be able to summon creatures, on top of their companion.

And yes, I think they do become Dire eventually.

Elementals like in "Fire Elemental" and earth, water and air.

As for what summon spell summons dire animal, check the manual/spell description.

I don't think your companions themselves become a Dire version. (unless they are so from the start)
But I could be wrong - haven't played a druid myself.

Sorry, but that's incorrect. An evil cleric actually gains control of undead when he turns. And there's a spell called Control Undead which, when cast upon an undead, gives you control of that being. Like a henchman or a summoned animal.

Well, that's news to me, as I've never been able to control the undead in NWN, and I've had my share of clerics, good and evil.

Saw Seth do it on AO, once. ;)

You can choose a new companion when you level. And they get tougher when you level. But other then that, no.

They were probably added on by whoever wrote the walkthrough. You can add whatchamacallits onto your own map by pushing the little whatchamacallit button right beside the Zoom In and Zoom Out arrows.

Well - according to the manual alone, it doesn't seem possible either ... but we can test it "easy".
Just make an evil cleric, pump him up level and get some undead to him and see if they get controlled or blown up (my money is on the last)
