Game needs alternate endings (spoilers)

Post by UncleScratchy »

Possible Spoilers:

Anyone else wish there were alternate endings to the game?

As the Neravarine Incarnate you should be able to tap into the poweres of the heart of Lorkan and become a man-god like Vivic, or;

You should be able to kill Vivic, Almalexia and Sotha Sil for breaking their vow to Azura and have Azura restore the Dunmer to their previous non-cursed visage (i.e. red eyes and grey skin would return to their previous states), or;

Since Lord Neravar was of House Indoril as his incarnate you should be able to establish the Indoril house on Vvardenfell instead of joining one of the other established houses (with the other houses as enemies), or;

As Neravarine you should be allowed to drive the Imperials out of Vvardenfell to fullfill the Lord Neravar's original goal.

Or a combination of some of these. The current ending and Tribunal add-on ending somehow seem to miss the essence of what the Neravarine should represent. Letting Vivic live in a deminished man-god state isn't very satisfying and killing him gets you nothing - even if you soul trap him its to little to late.

Anyone else feel that there should have been some real choices for the Neravarine as initimated during the final showdown with Dagoth Ur? The dialog seemed to be leading to different endings but it was all pointless.

I felt rather let down, when I first killed Dagoth Ur, that there wasn't more to do other than finish the Faction Quests and clean out all the caves.

Even as Arch-Mage I still must pay for guild transport. Some of the 'security forces' didn't automatically recognise me as Nerevarine; I had to discuss it with them to raise their disposition.

I agree. There needs to be more. That having been said, I have acquired a couple of questing mods and they had been rewarding, and I am awaiting Bloodmoon. Tamriel Rebuilt modders are hard at work on the rest of the province, and eventually the continent. I'm not sure how long I can wait, though. There is also a rumour of 'something else' in the works at Bethesda.

I agree with the alternate endings, and the ones you posted fit well. Alternate endings add replayability and uniquness to a game, and the character you are playing it with.

BTW, if you play Imperial, and there was the option to drive out the Imperials? Maybe a plot twist should be there for any Imperial playing people

And maybe quest/management for factions, like BG2, where you can manage the Thieves Guild. It feels like bummer, when you are the Head Honcho, and you can´t give any orders to people. Like helping to rebuild the Vvardenfell with Temple, hiring more healers and teachers, managing the finance, rooting corruption etc. As Knight of the Imperial Dragon, command the stranded legions, and extinguish the possible mutinies on garrisons left without pay etc. :)

I have just finished this most excellent mod, and am wondering about said ring. Is that something one would create or is it something to find?

I wish someone would post a detailed spoiler on illuminated order...it sounds like the mod is most complex...

can't wait to try out...

I am quoting the spoiler readme....it does mention something about a ring that will allow you to hide your skeleton like body....I haven't looked thru tes, so I know almost nothing about it...

don't know if you pick it up or have it made...

It's really quite straight forward. If you have any major issues, either pm or email me, or email the creator (he's quite good at replying).

SPOILER!

There are actually four alternate endings in Tribunal. They all happen when Azura appears before your eyes. The endings are:

1. Sotha Sil and Almalexia dead. Vivec lives, and may have some part to play in your future.(this only happens if you haven't become Nerevarine yet)

2. Sotha Sil and Almalexia dead. Vivec lives, but his time grows short.(This happens if you are the Nerevarine.)

3. Sotha Sil, Almalexia and Vivec dead. Azura thought he may have had a part to play in your future. (Happens if you killed Vivec for fun in Morrowind without becoming Nerevarine)

4. Sotha Sil, Almalexia and Vivec dead. Tribunal is dead and you are now only protector of Morrowind. (Happens if you killed Vivec after becoming Nerevarine)

Each of these endings/actions in the game can lead to different responses from the NPC's, I also agree with Uncle Scratchy that there should be big alternate endings. It would make the game so much cooler.
I have seen much that is, and All that isn't.

This sounds like material for a mod. :cool:
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

BTW, in early discusions about the matters i saw the opinion that alternative ending (PC becomes a God) had been supposed, altogether had never been implemented because of lack of resources (time in first order). IMO, there are hints in the game that it might be true.
