Possible Major Spoiler:
I'm not sure if this cave is part of the game or part of one of the many plug-in mods I have running (possibly Illuminated Order?). Anyway, I transported to Falensarano using the grand propylon chamber index (from that mod) and was wandering about the vacinity looking for daedra to soul trap when I stumbled on this cave. Its apparently an old glass mine and it was crawling with rats. Finally I reached a point with a long ladder and a dremora guardian wielding a Crescent Blade. Soul trapped him into Azura's Star and continued on. Then I reached an area that looks like the same setting from the Tribunal sewers and tunnels with a sealed door. I couldn't open the door, and it said I was found to be unworthy. Has this cave always been there in the main game or have I stumbled on to a piece of a plug-in mod that I shouldn't have found yet? I'm guessing that its part of a mod.

I have tried to 'visit' every tomb and cave, but missed this one until the IO mod. You should also have had to deal with a flock, gaggle, pride, herd, bunch of Daedra prior to reaching that door. Are you sure you have not loaded the IO mod?

Massama's a part of the regular game, although I don't remember any sealed doors in it. I thought the crescent was gained as part of another mini quest (Highlight for spoiler)An amulet in Divath Fyrs tower sends you to face the dremora

I had already retreived the Crescent Blade using the amulet from Fyr's tower, so now I have two of these weapons. I will press on with the Illuminated Order mod and see if it leads me there. Its possible that Massama cave was altered by the IO mod.
Yes I do have the IO mod loaded. The only things I ran into were a slew of rats. Perhaps I didn't get the other daedra because I wasn't sent to the cave but just stumbled on it by accident.Originally posted by j0ckser

Thanks for the replies guys. BTW, so far the IO mod is very nicely done. Very smooth, great concepts, etc.

Yes, Massama Cave was altered by the IO mod. One of the nice things about this mod is that it doesn't allow you into certain areas prematurely.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Massama (spoilers)
SPOILERS.............
Thanks Soj, I suspected that might be the case. I've just gotten to the part in the IO mod where you make the Bouyant Armiger vampire hunter forget everything. I have to admit I was happy to see the mod make use of the mysterious Pool of Forgetfullness which until then had no purpose.
Did I screw anything up by killing a soul trapping the dramora guardian? His soul is worth a bundle of enchantment points (2000 vs 400 for a golden saint!).

Re: Massama (spoilers)
Good question. I suspect not, but all I can suggest is that you make sure you have a save from prior to mugging him, and continue. Going there is the very last quest, so you'll have to wait a while to find out if you will be ok.
I would suggest you also save after each stage from now on; I ran into a 'bug' at the end and had to redo from a long way back.
