When I'm playing a combat-heavy party, I take all 3.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Oh yeah, i forgot to say i like Sarevok best :D He may not be able 2 wield carsomyr but if he and Keldorn got in a fight without carsomyr then Sarevok would own Keldorn :p

Sarevok, simply because you own him under a geas, can kill him at your leisure, and because even without Carsomyr, he is the best pure-bred fighter in the game.

Sarevok. Don't we all want a brother who can whack all the people who displease you? Don't we love power, the deathbringer assault? And evil :D ? And even if Keldorn has Carsomyr, what about the Ravager, Gram the Sword of Grief, and the Silver Sword? Two of those can kill in one hit and the other can level drain......Plus Sarevok's stats are magnificent. Hell, you could dual him to a mage or a thief, and then get Use any Item and bam! There's Carsomyr with Sarevok. Too bad you can only get him in ToB....

Minsc is certainly fun (even Boo Two thinks so), but Sarevok is a power house and there is some cool dialogue with him especially with Acension. How crazy would it be to adventure with a former nemesis? And if you have tactics you get the +5 Unholy Reaver, which dispels on each hit, and if you have the item upgrade you can upgrade the Soul Reaver along with Carsomyr (and some other stuff), and make the upgraded soul reaver +6 (dispel, +50%MR)... talk about beasty weapons for the melee monster. He is a beast without these, but they weigh against the Carso-paladin factor.

little Solaufein spoiler:

Boo Two is Sola's gift to Jan. Not only is she cute, she hides, detects traps, and moves at an alarming rate, exploring the map for you.

Evil Sarevok rulez. Eclipse Avenger is a must-have super-cheese item. (Solafein Mod - Blindness, dispel, super regeneration, immunity to blindness, immunity to missiles, Evil Alignment Only.)

I must admit that all of them are my favorite NPCs for their personalities and extremely powerful.

In terms of straight power, I would have to go outside the survey (and into the Weidu mods) and pick Solaufein.

If you avoid the dark side of the force with Sarevok and Co, you can still get mileage out of the Eclipse items with Jan, Haerry, etc and UAI. Jan can really use missle immunity in Acension due to his lack of HPs if he doesn't have a chance to throw up a pro magic weapons. And you can throw the yellow dragon armor (if you have tactics) on Sarevok for missle protection (but immunity and dispel is really sweet, you're right) and wield one of the many sweet already mentioned weapons like Gram or the Ravager. Valen is a good option for the Eclipse long sword as off hand weapon...

Agree outside of the poll on Sola: f/m easily made immune to magic, with his own special abilities and/or items, and being a fine romance option, but that'd be another thread...

Edwin... wait, that wasn't in the vote... ok, then, I'd choose Sarevok. Just because Minsc is a nimble-witted dummy, and Keldorn's righteousness pisses me off. Sarevok isn't as cool as Edwin (or Sola, if you count mods) but he's got nice dialogues and I like the concept of having your former arch-nemesis fight on your side. Even if he's a little nicer now.

Well that would be Keldorn I think.

Definitely not Minsc - his voice/attitude after a while gets on my nerves.

And I don't really like Sarevok because I never consider him to be a part of my party - it's simply too late. He has some great points (voice, combat banter ) nonetheless.

Hmmm

Well, I always had a thing for Minsc's ..lack-of-witt and his verrrry strange comments, etc. but he is *only* equipped for fighting -his stats- aaaand well after having done SoA it was either minsc or Sarevok (Keldorn has a nasty habit of hating my sweet little Vicornia so he is a natural gone'r).

aaand well Sarevok has a +5 in 2handede swords and he has this reaaally nice evil way of doing things, Besides he's my Bro' :-P

I like Keldorn the most (if I don't count the stupid things he says).
With dispel magic and true sight at a speed factor of one he is just kicking asses very hard.

I have him equipped with the gauntlets of dexterity so his crossbow skills will improve enourmous, and so does his AC.

Minsc is a good fighter, but I think Keldorn and Sarevok are superior to him in all ways.

Sarevok has extremely good statistics but comes a little late in the game and doesn't have the abilities Keldorn have.

Sarevok is my favorite tank. My second favorite is Korgan.

I find paladins annoying, so everytime I've come across Keldorn, I've killed him.

Minsc's dialogue is annoying also. I tried playing with him, but it didn't work out. I had to fire him for the sake of my enjoyment.

Keldorn, as he is a Paladin 'done right'. He isn't quite so stereotypical, he seems human enough despite the lofty ideals. Sarevok isn't there for what I consider the most important part of the game. Minsc... I play with Minsc often, but the fact that he can only rage once, and is a ranger, really bugs me. I hack him to Barbarian nowadays, suits him far better. With his Wisdom, he shouldn't be casting spells (and I believe Rangers shouldn't use huge swords and wear full plate). I believe the only reason why they made Minsc a ranger was because of balance issues in BG1: if he had been a straight fighter in BG1, he would have been the best mlee character in the game by far with his strength.

Sarevok for sure. Dual him to thief immediately, by the end of watcher's keep he should regain his fighter abilities. By the time I was in Sendai's lair I got the "Use any item" ability and had him wielding the Carsomyr.

Or, have him dual-wield Spectral Brand with Scarlet Ninja-to. Wait until a deathbringer assault is combined with a backstab!
