The Slavers quest is in the Slums district. I can't think of anything similar in the Temple area...

To get the Slums quest, go to the Copper Coronet and speak to people inside, especially the inn keeper.

SPOILERS AHEAD! Covering MULTIPLE PLOT LINES!

IIRC, there is a dead tie-in between the twisted rune and the slavers. There is a "guarded compound" in the temple district, which was (IIRC, remember!) supposed to be a part of the slavery quest. In it, you get a rouge stone (and some other great treasures in addition!). That rogue stone is unsellable, and if you check the description its some guy talking to you ("Why have you summoned me...come to the bridge district". Take said rouge stone (or any other, but I recommend the unsellable one because they don't come cheap) to the bridge district. There should be a house with two locked doors, each with a petrify trap on them. IIRC, its near the red-cloaked man from the bronze panty quest. If you open up the one facing the water, you can then enter it. By doing so, the rouge stone you brought is destroyed, but you are sent "miles and miles" away, to a hidden building (some people say pocket plane). In it, you face down the twisted rune, some very nasty, very powerful, very hard, and very very very rich enemies. The Staff of the Magi is perhaps the most potent staff in the game... Dispel on every hit, invisibility while equiped (re-equip to regain invisibility after hitting someone!) and the ability to cast an "improved spell trap".

Those that understand binary and those that don't
