I'm thinking Redskins tonight, even though logic tells me that Vinny can pull it out for the Jets. What do you think? :D

Minor technicality. :p

Sorry Georgi. We can talk about Star Wars if you want, but really the movies all pretty much sucked after the first. :D

It was great to finally see some good QB play at Washington, wasn't it? And damn good to see Spurrier run the ball when the passing game stalled a bit. If he keeps checking his ego and letting the running game take some of the pressure off Ramsey, with that defense, things could be good in Wash again. :D

Betts looks like he needs to start over Candidate. I was almost convinced a couple times last night Davis had just changed numbers and was still playing ;)

When I was a kid I used to have my Beast Man action figure lure my Ewok figures to Snake Mountain because I thought that was what Skeletor and his minions ate. :D

He's here. ;)
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

A lot of slam-dunk picks this week:

Pats over Jets
Chiefs over Texans
Bucs over Falcons
Steelers over Bengals
Vikings over Lions
Titans over Saints
Colts over Jaguars
Seahawks over Rams
Redskins over Giants - this was a hard pick for me
Packers over Cardinals
Ravens over Chargers
49ers over Browns
Bills over Dolphins - another hard pick

and Broncos over Raiders 24 to 21

I agree with HLD on all but Ravens/Chargers and Raiders/Broncos, and I can see his point. Weren't the Chargers supposed to be fairly good? Maybe they'll pick it up this week. And considering the Raider's last killing of the Broncos at Mile High last year, and the fact that the Broncos' first two games this year were against weak opponents, I could see them losing. HLD also thinks that the Rams will beat the Seahawks, but I can't see this one. The Seahawks are a powerhouse this year, and the Rams are struggling with QB controversy.

Bulger is starting for the Rams this week. This means two things: First, the QB the players trust the most will be under center. Kurt Warner has jumped the shark. Bulger is playing better and his teamates trust him more. Plus, Bulger isn't careless with the ball like Warner is. Second, it means that Marshall Faulk will get the ball. Mike Martz is too smart for his own good, and when Warner plays, Martz forgets he has the most versatile offensive player in football on his team. Faulk is a step slower and a few years older than when he ran (and caught) all over the league, but he's still the lynchpin to the Rams offense and Martz forgets this when Warner plays.

Bulger protects the ball and means offensive balance. The Seahawks aren't exactly a "powerhouse"; the did look good against New Orleans in week one, but whipping up on Arizona is something Division III Mount Union could do. I think the Rams will get their act in gear with responsible playcalling, confidence behind the best QB on their roster and a balanced offense that keeps their defense off the field.

I think the Chargers will get their stuff together, plus the Ravens have to fly west, an underrated home field advantage for the Chargers.

The Raiders/Broncos game is a crap shoot; both teams are pretty evenly matched, and since being fired by Al Davis, Mike Shanahan has owned them. Still, I think the Raiders will go into Mile High, slap Jake Plummer (and his 64.5 QB rating; lower than it was last year in Arizona) around a bit and win with solid special teams play and defense. Plus, I'm picking Rod Woodson to have at least one INT or fumble recovery.

Saints over Titans
Colts over Jags

Redskins over Giants
Packers over Cardinals

Random thoughts:

Chargers are looking like the Lions with Barry, a one man show at this point. Excpet the Lions had more at the receiver position for a few years. Chargers? Receivers? David who? They have one of the bast backs in the league, but what good does it do you when you can't keep the score close enough to be able to run the ball? Ravens defense just has to shut down Tomlinson, and I think they do it easily.

Rams still haven't impressed me that much. Bulger, Warner, bah...they were one bonehead away from being 0-2 even with their savior Bulger playing and with Owens sidelined for part of the game. Seattle on the other hand has been a ballhawking defense so far. They'll get a couple turnovers and that'll be enough to beat a team that has steadily declined since Vermeil left. Oh, and since Hakim left....and since Proehl left....and that has only for all their hype won one championship....you get my veiw on the Rams

Redskins should have beaten the Giant last year. Twice.Even with all those sorry-ass ex-gators on the feild. All they had to do was run the ball. This year, Spurrier has had a revelation. If you can win running...run. They ain't as passhappy this year, and their defense is just gonna get better. Even if Smoot doesn't play, they should win this game.

Dolphins gotta get it together sometime on defense, I think they do it this week. And Williams may not own the Bills D like he did last year, but he'll hurt'em enough. Bils have got to get a lot better running the ball if they don't wanna end up another fast starting team that falls off as the season wears on.
