Appearance changes

Post by Necrotaur »

So, the 'darker' you are, the more your appearance changes, right? My dark side character has found about 2 starmaps now, is at the darkest he can go, and so far only has what looks like the complexion of cottage cheese. Does he look eviler later on? Does he grow horns or have red glowing eyes or anything? :p

Thats as evil looking as you get!
Though after a while of looking that way I was woundering why the NPC's didnt have an oppinion on the way I looked......No "Hey you know your looking a little (oh how should I put this) ummmm DEAD" or "I never realize you where albino!"......or maybe something a little more subtle like "Hey I think your using WAY to much bleach in your wash!!"
.......is it crazy in here or is it just me??

you want an RPG where looks will change, wait for Fable. Well supposedly they deemed this one that your appearance truelly changes as you go light or dark, and not just the shade of your skin, but your costume, tatoos, hair style, etc.

Fable is the one to look forward to, I just hope its as good as the hype its drawing

That's correct. It is a well-known fact that employing the dark side of the force causes acne and permanent eczema. Why do you think so many dark Jedi go to dermatologists regularly?

In reality, dark Jedi also suffer from constipation, but this was deemed rather difficult to depict in a game. :)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Heh. :D

When I bought the game I didn't even know about the appearance change, but after Penny Arcade covered it, I started getting interested. I just figured it would be more in line with what Tycho looked like... y'know.. more evil. Like with tatoos and stuff.

But yeah, I can't wait for Fable. :)

Same here. But, do you look more angelic or gentle (basically, like a panzee) when you get as light as possible? From starting the game at about middle, to toping out on light side meter, I haven't noticed much of a change.

The horns and eyes sound like a reference to Darth Maul. Maul did not appear that way because of the dark side: he tatooed his face and added the horns surgically in order to look fierce. I'm not sure where I read that, but I'm positive it's true.

The Idea, I think, is that the Dark Side corrupts. Being good saves you from this corruption, but it doesn't transform you physically.

I dunno, I think they captured it pretty well with those strained, angry facial expressions...
