Tatooine sand people
IS there any way for me to not kill the chieftain of the sand people on Tatooine, without buying the HK-47 droid? Also, if I do kill the chieftain, do I get DS points?
Thanks

i'm not sure, i'm about to get to that part, but i do have the HK-47 droid, the easiest way to get 4000 credits is Swoop Racing, in the Swoop Registration, Talk the the Hut, race, win until he will not pay you anymore...go to the Droid Shop, sell 70 of your things the the Hut gave you, you should have 50 left...you will now have atleast 5000 credits...go buy the droid, tell the shopkeeper 5000 is too much, and make him go down to 4000.

There was no way that I found when I went through it. You need the HK-47 to translate for you, other wise you have to beat them into a pulp.
When I did it both times I did the Moisture Vaporators quest...after I gave him the MV and when through all the dialog the peacful way I turned around and opend up a container, THIS promped a hostial reaction from the chief and he attacked you....I recieved no Dark side from it.

.......is it crazy in here or is it just me??
Well the guy did tell you not to disrespect his people while you were in his settlement then you turn around and start digging through their stuff, that does seem to me as a disrespect. The way you just described gets the most XP since you get the xp for the diplomatic approach as well as the xp for all the sand people, but it left a bad taste in my mouth when it happened by accident in my game, so I reloaded. Simply don't touch any of the containers after using HK-47 to negotiate with the Sand People and they let you leave peacefully. Come back later with a Krayt Dragon Pearl and they even tell you their history.
It is best to be thought a fool and stay silent, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Re: Tatooine sand people SPOILER
Does anyone else remember how evil the sand people were in Episode IV? In my game I did the peaceful thing (HK-47 is worth having just for his commentary. My favorite is when you are at the Sith academy and Uthar says you must do something to impress him, and HK (hunter-Killer) says "How about laying waste to this building and exterminating all these flesh bags, master? Would that impress them?" or something...). But when I found out they were enslaving those little midgets, I decided to go browsing through theit wicker baskets. I went in with three Jedi, and wiped them out very easily. Best of both worlds: got LS points all the way around, no DS, freed the Jawas, and got rid of the a-holes.
My only regret was that the game doesn't let you attack Czerka personnel on Tatooine.
This peaceful stuff reminds me of a discrepancy in WookieWorld. The old coot sends you to peacefully get rid of the poachers, and after you do it, he suddenly seems cheesed off that you didn't kill them. WTF?

I already bought the HK-47, and I'm wearing the sand people clothes on all my non-droid characters, but all the sand people are attacking me. When I was in their territory I walked right past them and also past the gun turrets. Does anybody know why its doing this? The chief attacks as soon as I come in.

umm in order to talk to the chieftan u have to assure the guard that you are not a threat to him..to do this have hk-47 translate the guard and peace talk with him..u will then have to talk to the chieftan and find out what he wants in order to stop the attacks
and btw i got the droid guy to lower price to 2500 creds
