I can't find them anywhere on the official website.
Besided, they are usually far from correct.
What kind of system does it take to run this game?

well, tiber, its not actually HORRIBLE, but it could use some upgrading. id say 256MB more RAM, and you're set for ram. but if u dont have the money, u can stick it out with 386 MB. also, u might want to look in to a new gfx card. i got the same one as you, and its not really that good, so im getting ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB. its 199.99 now, but by the time KOTOR comes out, it should be cheaper.

That doesn't sound that good. I think gameplay>graphics. If I turn a lot of the options down, how will it run?

The official system requirements are out:
933 Mhz P3 (1.5 Ghz recommended)
256 MB RAM (512 recommended)
32 MB 3D card with Hardware Transform&Lightning (64 MB or better recommended)
IMO, the official requirements are usually not enough to run the game at an acceptable framerate. The bottleneck in terms of performance should be the video card, ie., the better your video card, the better it runs. Darthdrak's system should be adequate. Here's my opinion:
1) P4/AMD 2.0 GHz
2) 1 GB of RAM (512 is okay too)
3) ATI/Nvidia 128 MB video card (go with either the Radeon 9600 Pro or the GeForce FX 5600 Ultra)
With this setup, you could probably play the game at 1024x768 with max details with no problem. Of course, if graphics ain't your cup of tea, you can always lower the details, but me, I like to push my components.
