I Recommend not buying til a patch comes out

Post by Jotun »

I actually enjoyed playing this game, when I could play it, but now I am stuck in an area, no matter where I try to zone, the game crashes to desktop.

there is no forseeable patch on the horizon, so til a patch does come forth, do not buy. I dont care what kind of reputation one has, noone deserves money for half-arse attempts. you get paid when you deliver the goods, so they better deliver soon, too bad I already paid, but I'm now crusading to warn everyone else who has yet to :D

I've just checked Interplay's own Lionheart Troubleshooting board, and I see no evidence of this problem at all--from anyone, including you. Have you tried contacting tech support? Are you urging others not to buy the game simply because you're so angry?

from Interplay Lionheart Troubleshooting MB:

http://forums.interplay.com/viewtopic.php?t=27406

not directly related, but mentions it

http://forums.interplay.com/viewtopic.php?t=27024

also mentions the companion crash bug, but tells how to go around it with one specific companion, havent tested it yet if it will effect all the others with this workaround.

http://forums.interplay.com/viewtopic.php?t=27400

mentions a crash, not specific enough on the crash, but it might just be related, I'm betting

http://forums.interplay.com/viewtopic.php?t=27327

mentions exactly that he is crashing to desktop, just like I am, and then someone else replies its perhaps the companion causing it.

there are many posts regarding companion crashing, thats why I didnt make one myself, cause others are experiencing it.

but now some of the posts states they saw Lionheart announce they plan to patch, so that is good news, and I shall wait, but til then, I'm playing something else, perhaps Divine Divinity :D

Yes, it looks like a few others are experiencing crash bugs with companions, but your bug isn't theirs: yours has to do with a specific area--not a companion. (Since you can drop your companion from your party, I'm assuming you've tried this in order to work through the area, but found it didn't solve the problem.) So why not post it? And why not contact tech support, directly? That would seem to be the logical course of action. If we all waited for bug-free games, we would end up waiting forever. ;)

I'm going to have to agree with Jotun. I sure wish I waited to buy this game. This CTD is not an isolated incident either his case or in the case of companions. And just recommending you drop your companions so you can continue is not the point. I'm pretty tired of being ripped off. Any company who posts saying let us help you by emailing them your corrupted saves is not experiencing isolated problems.

Do not buy this game until it there is a patch available.

Patch is available, and havent had a crash since.
Good game, love the way you can solve quests in different ways, and how you get experience for other things then killing monsters
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
