HELP.. first time RPG player.. +/- points?

Post by veeco77 »

I'm totally confused at the points system here. For example, certain weapons rated at 2-10 and then have 19/20+2

then there are items or skills (whatever) that change certain things to +2 or -1 and all that stuff.

what in the world are all these numbers? There is no explanation in the book or online that I can find.

I've only been playing about an hour so far.

Anybody out there that can shed some light on this for me? Sorry if I seem like an imbecile, but I've just never played one of these games before.

Thanks,
Veeco

ok 2-10 on a weapon is the amount of damage that your weapon can do on a normal hit, lowest is 2 highest is 10.

19/20 x 2 means that you will score a critical hit on either a roll of 19 or 20 and your damage will be multiplied by 2.

if there is a +2 or -1 on items that means that it will either add or subtract that much from whatever attribute that it's written next to. example if you have a weapon that has damage 2-10 +2 then you weapon will do it's normal damage plus 2 extra points as a bonus.

@Veeco, if you can't wait for a reply more than 12 hours, perhaps you would be more at home on another board. Consider, too, that you'll get a lot more information by employing courtesy than you will be flaming the forum and everybody on it.
