Magic Resistance spell problem

Post by Minerva »

Whenever my cleric casts Magic Resistance on anyone, whether another party member or on an enemy, like a dragon, it causes the circle under the character to disappear and I cannot point the cursor on it. This is particulalry problematic to use against enemy, because I can no longer target the person/creature.

It had never happened before, and each time I use (only occasionaly I cast this spell, so I forget what happened the last time until I actually use this spell next time :o ), I have to reload. I can probably go through the game without using it ever again, still it's annoying.

Any idea? Could be one of mods I've got...

Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem, with TDD, Kelsey and solaufein installed.
once the spell runs off, it goes back to normal, though.

Maybe the modders added it to counteract the cheese you mentioned on dragons. You can still select the party member by their portraits though, and give them commands, and you can also band-box them too.

Have you ever heard any more inspiring or logical words? I sure haven't.

You could use the AI after you use that spell...

(I haven't cast that spell since the day I bough BG by the way... which was 3 months after release)

I haven't got TDD, so it's either Sola or, more likely (because I had him in the last game and had no problem... I think. I don't recall casting the spell then), Kelsey, I suppose.

Well, that was my first thought, but it didn't work. I think the party "cannot see" if the creature is hostile or not, so they are standing there patiently. Not even my summons, like fire elementals, didn't attack. They stood there waiting to be death spelled.

By the way, why are you hiding behind those sofas? No one would eat you up in this forum. :) In the SYM, of course, it may be different... :D
