I am new to D&D. Ihave started with a party of three. I have been wardering around for a week in the town. I got into the castle and the wizard asked me if I wanted to go to the moat. I went and was killed. Now I am a little stronger. I can't get back to the moat. The wizard does not give me the choice. Any and all help is welcome. Is there a way to get out of town?

You're free to go wherever u can.
In the bottom right u have some small icons, one of them fires up the map, click on world map and select your destination

Oh, thank god! I'm not the only brand-spanking-new player around!

JLewis, you don't need that wizard's permission to go to the moathouse. Roam around and talk to people. Try to get them on the subject and eventually someone will mark it on your map for you. Then you can just click on the world map to get there.
