Evil for Fun and Profit! (WARNING: Minor Spoilers, N00bly Advice, Maniacal Laughter)

Post by Etherial »

Evil parties have the most fun. Well, fun in the terms of numbers of people to kill while staying true to alignment (Plus, if you're really and truly evil, you're always a bachelor and thus get more implied hot Whore/Drow-nooky in certain chapters...). As a bonus, you get to kill Jaheira once all her sub quests are over and done with... :D Mmmm... Experience, deceit, and cold-blooded murder...

You get to kill people if they aren't compliant, and kill them if they ARE complaint... and weaker than you. :p

Best of all, I've noticed that being evil really pays off in the long run. Random battles with Cowled Enforcers gives you real battle experience against all the pesky liches and mages you're going to be going up against in latter quests. Also, you can collect some really useful and valuable scrolls. The guards and knights that accompany them usually have some really nice, really valuable armor. Offsetting inflated low-rep-induced prices. If you're patient all those battles will really boost up your level as well. Then again, you’ll be having too much fun to notice how many days you’ll be spending steeped in blood killing peasants. Not like time in a non-linear game matter much anyways. (Who cares if your soul has been sucked out of your body?! That fat woman looked at you funny! Slashy-slashy!)

Remember all you naughty little serial killers; keep your rep at least in the 3-5 ranges. It will keep your neutral party members only slightly pissed, and your evil ones really happy. Pay attention to your rep and you should have little problem using mass murder for fun, profit, and power!

(Additional hint: There is nothing wrong with 'playing good' once and awhile for a really nice item or oodles of gold and EXP. Just murder the agencies that you performed the good for at a later date thus bringing malicious balance. An example would be slaughtering the entire Elven camp, and Radiant Heart after you kill Bohdi and the way to the Tree Of Life is opened up... Again, be patient, those moronic bleeding hearts will get theirs… AT THE END OF YOUR BLADE! AH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!)
Itch. It itches to feel you cleave to the song of my mettle,
to yield and surrender in nearly every way;
if not in all the important ways.

Welcome Comrade!

Evil parties are the best! Especially lawful evil, as they can even justify "good" deeds ... and have no problems with really nasty things.
If someone's stronger than you, admire and praise him until he lets's down his guard.
If someone's weaker than you - well, consider it a deed to society. Less taxes to be spent on social services!

Besides the fun part, the game really seems to benefit evil characters. There are very few drawbacks to being evil (such as not being able to use Carsomyr) but on the other hand you can get much more exp (through killing) and of course more items and gold (looting minor lifeforms, such as Amnish Legionaires or Cowled Enforcers).

And then there are the few items only bad ppl can use; The Human Flesh Armor for example, which is really strong. It can be troublesome with some quests, but if you are careful you'll be able to do almost anything. And nothing is more fun and joy than wading through the corpses of your enemies as you slaughter their comrades.

And finally, you get to fight one of toughest battles in the game (and even according to your alignment!) which is the massacre of Drizzt Do'Urden's party. And you get quite good items there, too.

Oh, and before you finish the game don't forget to eradicate all the people that have been mean to you. Such as Ribald, that nuisance, who never gave you anything for free. Well, you will give him something....
-----
Wading through a sea of blood, desire's there for more.
Corpses hanging from the cliffs,
it's death that I adore.
When finally my time does come,
I hope that I can sell
All the souls that I have taken
to devil down in hell.

Okay, this thread is really old, I know, but I think it is JUST that good to be revived. :D

Great thread! I'm playing an evil party right now and it's great! Nothing can top pissing off Anomen! I kicked Jaheira out a while ago...with a sword in her back! I'm on my way to Valygar right now, let's see how this is going to turn out...

...but surely if it were that good it would have gathered enough interest to stay alive on its own?

IT is a good thread, but it is also limited. Most players don't play evil, or if they do they tend not to have a good enough go of it and give up, playing good but being evil.

Mmm... seems interesting enough to try sometime... what main character classes and parties are all you menaces to society using?
Believe you can, believe you can't;
either way, you're right.
Playing on pc, GOTY, currently unmodded.

Really? For some reason unbeknownst to me I tend to do the exact opposite. Short recap on the fates of several NPCs during my last visit to the Sword Coast.
  • I found Jaheira to be rather cranky, so I informed her she is not getting out of her cell. She is currently reported to be 'missing'.
  • The barbarian with the hamster seemed less than sane, so I thought approaching him would be unwise. He is yet unheard of, but is rumoured dead.
  • Aerie suffered a terrible tragedy. She was mistaken for a monster and met her end at the end of my sword. She would have probably tried to explain, but unfortunately after a successful backstab she couldn't quite communicate. Her uncle was never found, but is rumoured dead.
  • Nalia wanted to help the needy, so I thought her corpse would serve the worms inhabiting the land well. Her aunt was later found with a slit throat; it is widely believed to be the cause of trolls.
  • Keldorn was mistaken for a zombie, and before my party could react Edwin's spell trigger triggered and now Keldorn is extra crispy.
  • Valygar was to be arrested but he resisted. Korgan did his best to restrain him, but alas Valy suffered one wound too many from Korgan's axe. Luckily, even though the body was barely recognizable, the planar sphere had no trouble opening.

dudes, i just loooove playing evil, i just cant be good. I had a paladin once and i was fallen in no time. It's just to hard to not kill people making arrogant remarks about me(i usually have low char, if they don't like me, see if they like the afterlife) I usually kept me reputation 4> so i wouldn't encounter al these knighties and such. i never thought of killing them for xp and items. I usually solo, so is it possible to kill them with ease then? I wont try roght now im at school. We got this thing when we are supposed to work for subjects and we can chose wich! great! we got acces to the internet so let me count of 30 people 20 are talking and 10 are sitting behind a pc.
oww i lost the subject sorry guys
Let's search for treasure!
