Arcanum problem

i have this problem with getting this game to work on my pc.
When i start the game it says "Arcanum loading" and has this picture of a train with it, and then after about a minute it just crashes onto the desktop. Anyone had this kinda problem before?

Have yuo gotten the patch yet? (IIRC, I had this problem untill I patched).

Untill then, use the "safe mode"version. I think that helped me out.

nope...the patch didnt help

If patch / safe mode doesn't work, all I can suggest is that you check your hardware. I remember that shortly after I upgraded my video hardware (From, IIRC, 16 Megs video memory to 32 + shared memory archetecture (Specificly: I can use regular memory for video memory if its free)) the game stopped working. I recently got it working again when I got a real video card (GeForce4... wow, thats a fast card for me)

One possible solution is to make certain you have the latest driver for your video card; alternatively, if the most recent driver is causing problems, attempt to use a previous iteration.

well, this is probably not the best place to ask this, but its kinda related to the problem...when i try to update the drivers, it says that the video card has not been tested by Windows and doesn't update it, even though the update is for that video card...
