I started a new game yesterday. I have the Warhammer +1/+4 vs Giantkin in DeArnise Keep. So what exactly counts as a giant?Golems?

Ettins and fire giants are giants, i think.

Golems are golems.

There is one Ettin in the game and Fire Giants in ToB.

Cant remember any other though.

So without Throne of Bhaal it is useless?
Since I posted this question earlier I've carried it with me from chapters 2- 5 for no reason. Oh well :D

I'm afraid that even with TOB it's pretty useless as there's much better weapons to use. Apart from in the keep I've found it's better just to sell it :(

If I remember correctly, Ogres count as giantkin. I remember reading the description of that same hammer (possibly in BG1) and it mentioned Ogres in what the weapon could hit.

I think that trolls are also considered giantkin. My memory is kinda foggy: I'm trying to remember this from back in the day when I played the PnP version of D&D/Rolemaster. I haven't tried it in the game to see if you get the bonuses against all them thar trolls in the Keep.

If you got The Darkest Day mod from the internet or PC ZONE magazine there are giants roaming around a castle there (can't remember the name!)
Hope this helps
