when will i become a jedi?
i am in the vulkar base at the moment to get the swoop-racer.
at the moment i have no special forces or my light-sword.
do i become a jedi after this "world" Taris?
At the moment i am on the dark side ;-). will i get problems when i get a jedi?

Edwart, hi. Welcome to the GB KotoR forum. I've adjusted your thread title to let people know it'll include spoilers. (You might want to do the next time, yourself.)
As for your question...SPOILER FOLLOWS...

Yes, after Taris you will go to a planet (Dantooine, I believe), where the Jedi Council will offer to make you a Jedi if you wish. You can turn them down, or opt for one of the three Jedi types outlined in the manual. You will also have several challenges along the way, none of which are very tough.
Being dark just means that you'll dark powers are cheaper, while being light means light powers are cheaper. Keep that in mind as you make levels and choose new jedi powers. You'll naturally want those that you can cast more often.

I didnt know that becoming a jedi was optional although it would probably be the best idea. my recomendation would be a jedi consular but first get master toughness and level 3 implant for a cardio power system (constitution +4) which you get on Mannan from Roland Wann. Even if ur good get at least some evil powers like drain life or else Malak will kick ur ass (the only reason i killed him is because i maxed out an stims and drained all the lifeforce from the dead jedis)
Ps have you heard the rumors of the black crystal? it sounds very nice

No, you can't refuse to become a jedi. It would make no sense for the jedi council to allow you refuse proper jedi training... let's just say they know a bit more about you then you know yourself
As for the black crystal... it doesn't exist (confirmed on the bioware boards).

I wasn't really clear, above, and didn't finish my train of thought: sorry. What I meant was, you didn't have to choose the jedi type corresponding to your pre-jedi "profession." A scout, for example, could become a Guardian. One of those annoyingly Wise Jedi Trainers will ask you a series of questions and point out an appropriate Jedi choice, but you don't have to go with it. You can select any of the three Jedi careers.
But you *have* to become a Jedi. It's essential to the plot.

Frosty, I've removed your request for a manual from the website. First off, it's considered rude to hijack somebody else's thread. Second, if you truly purchased the game, you already have the manual. It's not currently being sold without one.
Third, if you don't have the manual, chances are you didn't buy the game from an authorized source, but either bought or received it from a pirate. In which case, you've just stolen money from the developers, who are making stuff we enjoy. If that's the case, then shame on you.
But by the way you snuck your request in somebody else's thread, and never posted here before, I suspect you're blanketing KotoR boards with your cries for a manual. I hope your KotoR version refuses to ever run on a computer you own.
